BREAKING: Graham Potter has been arrested in Far North Queensland.

Former Wollongong coal miner Graham Potter, spent 15 years in prison for the 1981 murder of teenager Kim Barry.
After meeting the 19-year-old at a Wollongong nightclub, Potter lured the shop assistant to his Corrimal flat before killing and hiding her then returning to the disco. When he got back after making sure his brother was asleep, he dismembered her in the bathtub with a hacksaw before dumping her torso on the side of a mountain in Jamberoo.

He was convicted and served 14 years before being released from jail in 1996. Potter has been wanted by police since he failed to appear on bail for drug conspiracy to murder charges at Melbourne Magistrates Court in February, 2010 and remains at large with a $100,000 bounty on his head.

Sources close to the case said Potter was co-operating with police informing on Pasquale Barbaro and believe that is the only reason he was given bail, not only on the drug charges but also on charges of conspiracy to murder underworld figure Mick Gatto’s associates months later.

Several sightings of Potter have had police in the region issue warnings particularly to elderly ladies living alone he is known to befriend.

For such a disgusting man, Potter has a knack of his crimes descending into farce that Monty Python could only dream of writing.

He went on the stand at his own trial and told a story of how two men barged into his apartment, killed Kim and told him to leave and get back to the disco. When he returned he searched everywhere but the spare bedroom and went to sleep. The next morning the men came back, pulled Kim out of the spare bedroom, forced Potter to help cut her body up and then forced him to dispose of the evidence. Watch the old CIA episode on the case cause it's a great story of police forensic work as well as a barrel of laughs when they re-enact Potter's story of what happened bit by bit. You just have to laugh at how he actually thought that story was gonna work.

He failed at a hit 3 times, one of which cause the old bombed out Magna he hired broke down. Who thinks of a getaway car and decides a Mitsubishi Magna is what you want? For that matter, what hitman is dumb enough to not notice the police are watching your every move?!

And now we're at a point where he either got eaten by a croc or he's possibly hiding in regional Australia wearing a fat suit

Queensland Police arrested Potter on Monday morning at a residential address.

Potter has been wanted by police since February 2010, when he failed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrate's Court to front conspiracy to murder charges.

He was accused of being contracted to kill a man at the wedding of the son of Melbourne underworld figure Mick Gatto.

On top of that, he was also wanted on federal drug trafficking charges.

The 64-year-old will appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow

He is innocent though until proven guilty and even if found guilty of conspiracy i think he would still be a big chance to get a sentence that sees him released by his mid-70's

in the graphic above it purports that graham potter was known to be living in Ravenshoe, North QLD in April 2010. On April 22 2010 he even buys a rail ticket to return to the area. This is where he was arrested in February 2022. It seems Ravenshoe has a population of approx 1400, yet it took the police 12 years to find him there. not a good look when he is even known by sight by locals, and there is video footage of him out and about in town.
