Port are worried, don't worry about that, Mark Williams is trying to play mind games with frawley, that is the best indicator that port are concerned.

We definitley have to fire in the middle, and play at least as good as we did against Adelaide. We will be looking to get a blistering start as one of ports strengths is starting well at the beginning of quarters, if we can nullafy that and get a good start on the quarters ourselves then we will go along way towards winning this game.

We need to hold our marks, because when we do we reduce the turnovers dramatically, we don't kick the ball aroung alot like some other clubs and build up the possesions with no impact, our possesions generally have some go forward this makes our marking more valuable because there is more substance to the movement.

Key areas are centre, must win centre clearances and the line across centre half forward, alot of our movemnet has been breaking down there in the past, this area needs to be right on song, then we will have more than a good chance.

Fought the game out well and had me a bit worried towards the end there. Did enough to keep their self belief and the growing respect they've earned over the last year. Outclassed though, despite the close final margin. Ottens is a gem, Richardson is a worry.

Granger,

Who were Port missing last night? Was that a basically full strength side?

I'm not sure about being outclassed either. A nine point victory and you guys only managing 10 goals in perfect conditions does not smack of being outclassed.

After doing nothing in the first quarter, we actually outplayed you for the rest of the game. After doing the hard work to get ourselves back in, it was all undone by a tactical blunder in the first 4 minutes of the last quarter.

It is well known that Port start quarters well, which means the decision to start Ben Holland in the ruck against the much bigger and reigning All-Australian ruckman, Matthew Primus, defies belief.

3 centre square clearances in 4 minutes and 3 quick goals on the board. Simple as that.

Ottens should have started in the centre square and then drifted forward thereafter, leaving Holland or Richo - who did very well as a follower - to work around the ground.

Ironically, as it was the biggest player on the field that got you your last quarter break, it was the smallest and most inexperienced player on the ground that got us back in!

In the last 10 minutes, David Rodan won a series of crucial posessions in tight in the centre and frequently pushed us forward.

A star is born!

Well done to Port, they did hold the ascendency for the whole game and deserved to win. I think the final margin of 9 points was a fair reflection.

Port took control at key points of the game and allowed Richmond (who fought it out well all the way) back in at other times. That 'triple tap' at the start of the final quarter sealed it and they coasted from there.

Port had Stephen Paxman and Michael Wilson missing through injury.

The umpiring was SHOCKING at crucial points in the game and defied logic most of the time favouring port.
Good to see Richo turn it around in the last quarter, after being doubled teamed up forward, No wonder he gets frustrated.
The umps lets go all the sheparding, scraging and holding of him, like I said umpiring SHOCKING!!
"The Goodluck Charm" RODAN would have worked even better if he had more game time instead of that short sparkling cameo in the last quarter.
Must be our answer to the Mid field, a strong ,hard in and under player, plus hes got resonable pace.
Loved the fact the Tiges kept fighting digging deep never giving up,even with all the skill errors, it could have been a blowout and we almost stole a win.
They Exposed our deficencies tonight giving us a great opportunity to correct and improve from here on with the return of some experienced campaigners and steady progress of the youngsters. The new lessons our coaching staff should have picked up . Cant wait till we put it all together, should be an awesome team.
All in all looking forward to another good year for the TIGES!!!!

Finally Congratulations port on winning the Practice Cup back to back ,you played very well, cant see you improving much from here though.
Hope you havent Peeeked??????? "Like 2001"
