Just read a post about a comeback in a final. Thought it might be an interesting exercise to find out about some great comebacks. 2 that I know of is one at Numurkah in 1996 Numurkah v Deniliquin in the Murray league. Deni were top of the ladder and would later win the flag. However they found themselves 64 points down at half time and not looking like it. A depressed bunch in the sheds were roused into action by legendery trainer "kooka". The boys were 38 down at 3 quarter time and won by a couple of goals. Another in a GF was Mathoura v Waaia in 92 or 93. Waaia going for 3 in a row had beaten Mathoura by 60, 50 and 21 points in there 3 encounters. at 1/2 time waaia led 6 goals to 3 and were cruising. After an all in mathoura kicked 12 goals for the quarter and ended up winning by 60 points!

2002 East Ringwood vs East Burwood GF

ER were down by 39 points at the 30 minute of the 3rd quarter when a free kick was paid and after 2x 25 metre penalty and a kick after the siren the Roos went into the break 33 points down. What happened after that was amazing to watch ER kicked 10 goals in the final quarter and kept EB goaless to go on and win by 25 points. It is easily the best quarter of football I have seen.

1994 KDFL Prelim, Nagambie V Avenel.
3/4 time Nagambie 58 pts up, 1st bounce start of last qtr, bang goal 2 Nagambie, 64 pts up.

Avenel win game by 4 pts.

1987 Turvey Pk 17.06.108 Wagga 14.22.106

When I re-researched this game last year the halftime lead was 58 points. (I was in the treasurers box for the game so only saw the last quarter) apparently TP were still down 66 half way thru the 3rd quarter and got back to 41 down at 3QT. They kicked a goal in time on to snatch the 2 point win.

That was the qualifying final Wheelbarrow as Merrigum chewed Nagambie to pieces in the 94 Prelim with Francis Ryan kicking a bag. Avenel were cooling their heels for the big one after beating the dogs in the wet at Gig in the 2nd semi. There was a bit of spite in that 94 game you mention between Nagers and Avenel wasn't there?

I have added Turvey Park's amazing comeback in 1987.
Undefeated all year and fell appart for almost 3 quarters, eventually getting to the front late in time on and hanging on to win by 2 points.

The other amazing fact is that when their comeback started just after half time the Bulldogs kicked 15 goals straight to the Tigers 3.12
