Actually i am in uni studing commerce and I was a B-A student in english.
So my english isnt that bad and my spelling never held me back in english.It was actually one of my higher scoring subjects for my TEE .

I dont think there is as much emphasis on it these days in school.

I don't care really, as long as I can work out what you are saying, but there are at least 8 spelling/grammar/punctuation mistakes in a post talking about how good you were at English?!!!
