You guys have seriously got to get your hands off your peckers in saying this guy is at all close to being a decent player, as for him playing well today, my f-ing lord did you see the game. This guy should not be playing for the Blues and i am quite embarrassed to see him running around. He is a VFL at the very best. Now piss off back to the 2s.

Hey five did you seriously watch this game tonight? i am praying that you didnt, because if you followed football, and didnt have your hand on your willy, you would be agreeing with myself that this man never pulls on the NAVY BLUE EVER AGAIN.
Greg Bentley is the worst player who has played AFL not just for the Navy Blue, but infact the entire competition. I am not really a player basher, few exceptions made, but i will bash Greg Bentleys a whole lot, and i hope i am not alone.
It is very very embarassing to know we have him playing for us, but we all know he will be dropped next week for sure. This was his 1 time in his career for redemption, and i am sure after seeing him play on and woof the ball directly into the man on the mark, leading to direct shocker goal, the MC kicks GB to where he belongs...

I will keep it short. It is a forum for opinions. Yours is that GB is up there with the worst players we have ever had. Mine is that you are up there with the worst newbie's we have ever had.
ps We just won - and although many of us have reservations about it, I always consider it best to keep them to a minimum until later in the week as Wins are nice for a change
I don't want to bag a Carlton player too much, but I wanted to get up and kick the TV when Bentley ran and had that kick smothered in the third quarter. Not good enough for AFL.
I would have rather played Yarran and I can't see Bentley being a long term member of the team. That said, I was happy to see him in the circle as it was his first win with the club.

No doubt it was bloody great to see the boys win and it was great seeing GB singing the song, it made it extra special because i think he will be one of the first guys ever to have sung the song in the middle of the huddle, only for him to be turned into thin air and never ever seen again!!!
I love the Blue boys, and i really like to see us win. It was lucky that we did win in the end because we would never have heard the end of it on this board. Was lucky for Ratts too because we got the win and i think Scotta and Stevo got their message and 1 or both of them will be back next week, and will give it their all.

Not the worst skills I've seen but his decision making is average and he has the awareness of a wooden plank.

He may be a newbie, but he is making a lot more sense than you Five!!!
The only disagreement I have is that I think Leroy Jetta just surpasses Bentley as the worst player to have played this year!!!
Why drop Stevens for an even slower player who cant dispose of the ball, fumbles at every opportunity and cant read the play or put any real defensive pressure on the opposition ball carrier??? Rather them play another young kid with some chance of a future at the club!!!
Thought we were done with this dud after his insipid performance against Hawks where he cost us 2 goals and possibly the match with his fumbles and turnovers!!!

He wasn't as bad towards the late part of the game but still prefer Anderson getting a crack before him.
We should enjoy the win and not abuse him,the main thing we didn't lose.I know the win isn't that much of a win when your playing one of the worst footy teams of the last 15-20 years,but a win is a win.

Greg Bentley is a fairly young player who has the ability to play AFL.....because he doesnt come with the pedigree of others makes him an easy target. What he needs is a chance to show his ability and when he does I'll enjoy laughing at some of the knobs on here and their comments.

hmmm...
I wonder if you will manage to be around for very long... I reckon that you are just a bandwagon supporter and if we go out in the first week of the finals, you will be screaming for Ratts to get sacked and for Sticks to step down and the recruiters are all tossers who know nothing about what the club needs.
If we make the finals this year and go out in the first week... it's a damned good year because we didnt expect to make it...
And it is guys like Greg Bentley who give us some depth and while he might not be there when we next win the flag, it is guys like him who helped put us on the path to it.

I agree...
A couple of years back there was a guy on the half back flank who all but a few thought was a shocking player. They were calling for him to be delisted as useless or to be traded for a second round pick...
These days, the knockers are all bemoaning the fact that Bower is out injured for a couple of weeks and our defense is a bit on the light side.
Bower was never really given a chance by our previous coach and was so down on confidence which affected his game. He still has some rough points, but he is getting better and is now considered one of our best players.
Too many bandwagon supporters knock the players they dont like because they feel that they have to.
Bentley might not be there for our next flag, but he will have been part of the team that got us to that point.

i MUST HAVE MISSED ALL HIS GOOD WORKLook might not be the most gifted player on our list but bugger me this boy has leader stamped all over him. Really ran the show for us across the backline in the second half. Wouldn't be suprised to see him take on more of a higher leadership role next season.
Keep fighting the good fight Greg.Hopefully he plays out the rest of the year in the navey blue.
