Not sure if anyone was listening to SEN this AM, but KB had Denham on for his usual spot talking about various issues, one of which was Fev.

For days now, and particularly since the Hall decision, the "Fev is definately going to Sydney" calls have intensified.

Finally, someone called this morning to point out the obvious (which the media don't seem to bother much with), which was:

"For Fev to go to Sydney, Sydney would need to offer a trade suitable to Carlton".

Pretty straight forward idea, and in itself poses a massive block to Fev going.

Denhams response, rather than explore the difficulties of Sydney actually coming up with a deal........

"No they don't. Fev is out of contract this year so Sydney don't have to offer the Blues anything. If they put 4 years at 3.1 million on the table he can go straight to them via the PSD".

I put it tou you, the intelligent (relatively speaking ) posting public, that this could eclipse KB's "in the box seat" comments as the dumbest thing you have ever heard (or seen re-typed).

Does anyone.........anyone at all, think that Fev, arguably the best FF ion the game, could possibly get past:
Dees, Freo, WCE, Dons, Port, Tiges, Saints, North, US!! , Brisbane, Crows, Pies.........and make to Sydney via the PSD.

Dumbest thing Denham has said since "Voss is a certainty for the coaching job at the Blues, and Danny Frawley will be his assistant".

Fev's the best FF bar none, Bradshaw gets injured too often. Denham talks a lot of crap, it is SEN and they have 24 hours of AFL to talk every day.

KB's good value in my opinion.
He's provided many laughs particularly on the Judd
'box seat' comments.
He is annoying, but his main task at SEN is to be an antagonist.
As for Denham, again he's a member of the media
just looking for a hook to hang his hat on.
If Fev did go to Sydney he'd be lying back with the biggest
'I told you so' face....if not he'd be hunting around for the
next pile of crap to dig up, which i dare say he's already doing.

I don't think it's as bad as everybody says...
Yeah it has it's moments, grain of salt etc,

SEN seems to make ppl get paranoid about issues when there is not a need to.alot of their reports are rubbish.
For AFL i dont see the harm in waiting for the afl website to tell the correct news,cricket and other sports ABC 774,
the only time i would listen to SEN is in the last hr of trade week in the afl.

I noticed how you went from being supremely confident that Fev wasn't going anywhere to suddenly wanting to wring his neck after reading about him talking himself up at the Fennech fight and decided best give you some space to vent and cool off.

My take, as I've posted in another thread, is that Fev is just being Fev -he loves to talk it up, whatever 'it' may be, and to whoever is prepared to listen (opposition cheer squad, chad cornes, heath shaw in recent weeks).

Not necessarily the best or smartest way to be, but its just Fev, he's always been like that and he aint about to change now. When it's The Chad or Tiger's cheersquad he's mouthing off to, or even at a family day when he is a real larrikin with the kids and they have a great time, we all applaud him for it. But when it's about 'serious club business' all of a sudden we lose our sense of humour and acceptance and suddenly he's the enemy and must be banished immediately

Sydney wanting him and being prepared to pay big bucks to Fev just happened to be the best thing he had to talk up at the time of the fight, and he was talking it up for all who were prepared to listen.

IMO It wasn never even about holding the club to ransom for more $$$, it was more about being so excited about it that he just couldn't hold it in.

I don't believe there's anything at all sinister in it, Carlton is where his heart is and after putting up with our last 6 years of misery, there's no way an elite talent like Fev is going to risk losing the opportunity to play out his career in a team challenging for flags. I have no doubt that he's going to stick around to hold up cup # 17 and he'd be one of the most deserving players on the list to do it too.

He's never been his own best PR representative, but we've always accepted that as part of the package that is Fev. Nothing's changed here: same old same old...and I'm used to it by now, and I accept his shortcomings as a very small price to pay for his talent and the rest of what he brings to the club.

I also derive some sinister pleasure out of watching all the Chicken Licken's scampering around for shelter anytime Hutchy 'breaks' the big story that the sky is falling
