During last weeks game, I just thought of Greg Bentley as 'just another list filler,' but he's really come out and shown his worth in the last two weeks. I think he averages something like 15 disposals and a goal for each game, mostly from the Forward line. I'm starting to think that there could be a bit of competition for that vacant Forward Pocket position if Bentley can put in consistent performances likewise to the passed two games.

What are your thoughts on Greg Bentley? Just another part-timer, or a potential jewel in the rough?

Not sold. Gets the ball, is strong, but uses it poorly. Kicks have distance, but lack penetration and accuracy. Not really sure what he adds to our list. Obviously they rate him for some reason. Early days i guess. :)

Forward pocket?????? The closest he got to goal was HFF and he plays predominently center. Way to slow for forward pocket. Looks ok and tough but his dipsosal today was crap.

I see him purely as a depth player at this stage. Lot's of aggression for the ball, which is pleasing to see, although there is just too much competition for his spot in the team at the moment, which forces him out.

If he can maintain consistent performances i'd be willing to give him a crack in the senior side, but only at the expense of a player with an LTI.

As I said after last weeks game, there's something about him that impresses me.

I think we all know that he won't ever be a star, but in no way does that mean that he can't be a very useful player for us.

Sure, there are some parts of his game that need a fair bit of work. His kicking isn't great but it certainly isn't as bad as many are suggesting on here. He's not fast but whilst that limits your career, it certainly doesn't mean you can't forge one for yourself.

He works hard, is a strong body and knows how to get the ball. He won't ever be a starting 22 player in a good team but there is no reason to think that he cannot become a decent depth player for us. I thought that after last week, and nothing that I saw tonight made me think otherwise.

ATM a depth player, Im sure he was an emergency player in Ports grand final loss to Geelong, Obviously has talent and has a big body which could be used to protect the likes of Judd,Murphy and Gibbs.

Remember another poster saying he had a bad attitude, but ive never heard anything to back this claim up.

Not true - he was at the drop many times, and it was also where he kicked his goal from.

Ben Nelson!

would have Garlett and Joseph ahead of him for the nominated rookie, even sauce depending on Warnocks injury.
