TAB have Miata @ 1.65 to win All Stars Sprint Sat night, include that in plenty of multis for easy value as he will piss in at his home track. Might be higher if you shop around.

Will be having a look at American Red Ballarat Race 12 tonight, drops in class and has speed to burn if he gets a clear run and has been unlucky of late, will have a go if at decent odds. Darlin Bale will be very hard to beat though so possible quinella.

Hoping to back a few winners at the meadows tonight.
Not sure how short she will be but Queen of Cyprus should win race 3...im assuming she will start short though.
In race 6 I really like Rewind...looks a very smart dog and hopefully it gets a jump from box 4 in this pretty hot field.
Race 10 I think Zippy Galore from the inside draw should get to the front easily and then hold off this field im thinking.

Figured I might try get involved in the greyhound thread and hopefully back a few winners.

Big night at Sandown tonight!

Race 1 - Shintaro Samurai - Drawn beautifully in #2, lacks early toe but should stick to the rails and run up behind them on the first corner and finish powerfully - Place special.

Race 2 - Fancy Dean - A very fast solo dog and will win with any kind of luck.

Race 6 - Mepunga Nicky - Should get an early break on Bekim Bale and if it gets trapped wide early could be hard pressed to catch the #3

Race 10 - Dyna Morris - Best Bet of the night, with the wide running Pedrosa drawn in box 2 he will get the perfect run from the red and should be winning this nicely.

The Better Melbourne cup!

Final is tonight IMO between Mepunga Nicky & Bekim Bale, whoever wins that, wins the final

The track at Sandown has been racing exceptionally fast at times recently so i would take some of those times with a grain of salt. The time that Cape Hawke ran is just too fast for his ability, it had to be running extremely quick that night

Yeah I agree doctor, some of the times the other night were 29.50s for average dogs, a month ago, that time would have been amazing

You probably would of noticed something similar with the times at Hobart recently mate. 26.20 or 30 there used to be only for the fastest dogs. Tenacious Ted's track record is still the best run i have ever seen around there. On the other hand Launceston seems to be getting slower

lol? wat?

So what excuse do you have when he went over to Adelaide, ran Cold Fusion silly, ran the quickest time in recent history(29.33) and got down lengths lower than recent Adelaide Cup winners?

From memory, Heston Bale won that race and has now completely gone to shit.

That was the maiden final you are thinking of. He went something lke 29.15? And Bekim was placed behind it. The next week, or week after Bekim came out and broke the record.

It is just a young dog and does not have much early speed or track sense. Does have a motor, so look for it to improve with experience.

Hi guys, im a complete noob to greyhound betting but really enjoy it. Was hoping you could answer a few questions for me.

1. Are only two places paid out on every time theres less than 8 dogs in the race? And are the place prices generally higher for these races?

2. Why is there so many dogs with 'Bale' in their name? I started betting on them at the pub cos im a Spurs fan and one of our players is Gareth Bale but now they are everywhere! lol

3. How much attention should be paid to early speed ratings on sky racing? It helps the better dogs get clear of the mess i suppose but what else?

1. Just like horses if there are less than 8 runners when scratchings are final there are only 2 place divs, if there are late scratchings however which take it under 8 runners then it will still be 3 place divs. Prices will be shorter though obviously because you have a better chance of running a place. When there are only 2 place divs yes the prices are higher than if there were 3.

2. Most of the dogs with "Bale" in there name are owned by the same big owner, they used to be anyway. That was just his thing.

3. Most winners in dog races are in front on the first corner so early speed is extremely valuable. As for sky ratings for early speed, its not useless but should only be used as a guide at best.

Cool, thanks Doc. I see it at the moment as just paying for entertainment like i approach the casino with, a win is a bonus. Great fun though.

Looking forward to thursday night, will the Herald Sun have a good guide on thursday?
