I've watched the replay back and noticed that Grimes is devoid of confidence, he avoided at least 5 kicks that would've opened up the Hawks press, but he chose to either wait until the ump blew his whistle then kicked the ball to a pack outside 50 or chipped sideways so it was someone else's problem. Now I know he's not alone in this, but he seems physically shaken in his post match interview. He's one player we need to get back to taking the kicks that'll kick off our run and carry game.

Agree. But I think we just need to give him time. Playing him at vfl to gain confidence would be great. However I think Chaplin needs to go first. He's offering nothing whereas grimes is at least defensively stopping his man.

I nearly chocked when I saw the vide on rfc site that had Dylan say that we were improving and moving the ball on quicker.

We were deplorable at this on the weekend and he was one of the worst offenders.

I wouldn't be holding out too much hope that he becomes the player we thought he would be.

What happens when your team gets trashed.

a general problem with every player at richmond unfortunately

I agree, it seems to be the new gamestyle thats affecting most players atm.

I think Im one of the few but I think Grimey is going along ok, not often beaten and if not for a few missed marks (unlike him) he would be playing well.

There is NO way Chaplin will be dropped

Let him play. For his entire career supporters on here have been cursing his injuries and wishing he could get a decent crack at it. Now he has, people want him dropped.

Typical bigfooty logic :thumbsu:

If his groin doesn't kill his career damians game plan will
The team is smiling confused and shit scared

Rance in, Grimes out, and once he's gained some confidence in the VFL he can come back (possibly for Chaplin, although it appears Chaplin adds a lot in terms of on field leadership/direction).

I'm just wondering when our stupid gameplan will change. I bet it won't change until next season.

rance coming back will make everyone look a heap better

under rated on this board, will provide the impetus for the backline rebound and all players back there will improve. just need to send morris for what ever he needs to get done

I have faith in Optimus Grimes, always have. He needs continuity, and also a back line that isn't complete shit would help him too.

Was anyone else unfortunate enough to catch that ludicrous segment on the coverage before the game where they had a camera with him for the drive home and he was talking about how bad he felt about dropping a mark against Collingwood? Nobody needs this tosh. First thing he does against Hawthorn is runs under he ball and gives his opponent a more or less uncontested mark. Hopeless.
