You guys go on about how great it is. How about spreading the chants around a bit every week and getting the tigers around the stadium to join in and make it a big atmosphere. Print the chants on paper, make plenty of prints and hand them out to tigers before games. It's not hard to chant something else other than richmond clap clap clap :D. We need more chants around the stadium. Make use of the 50,000 tiger supporters at every game. Show us what you got grog squad

inb4 - "we dont need chants", "It's not soccer", "It doesn't work because there isn't enough time between exciting plays", "Wish our crowd was like this <insert soccer/basketball video with epic atmosphere"

I like it Madtiger2006, i'm keen to help organise some stuff if you or anyone else is keen. Half the people on here agree and half disagree with chanting but the best way to get it sorted is for us to just jump on board. Im in!!

PS the problem with the grog squad is that they want to stand under cover near the bar where the sound doesnt travel. Maybe what we need is some volunteers to buy them a load of beer and bring it out to them so that they can actually get out in the open, up behind the cheer squad for an almighty sh*t storm!!! :D I'll donate a 6 pack if the grog squad merge with cheer squad and teach them a thing or two. Srs

I honestly couldn't care less, I go to the footy to watch the game, not sing chants. Wouldn't work spreading it out when the majority in the stands wouldn't get involved. It works as good as it does because the people that want to get involved go in the same area.

The chants would occur during time on stages eg. after goals or thrown ins or when the ball is in defence etc. During nothing parts of the game. You guys know the chants. Someone print it out and photocopy it. Give em out outside the stadium before the match or even inside the stadium where the grog squad stands. The squad can start the chants and the people around them will join in and the upper levels will hear it. After a while we'd know all the chants off by heart. Wouldn't mind the occasional chants instead of richmond clap clap clap lol

I'm the same. I just watch the game and join in a richmond clap clap clap chant from the top level. But every now and then it would be better to hear a bit more noise on the upper level during quiet parts of the game and the occasional different chant. Before the game chants would be cool too.

i like the tiger army one(ala barmy army) when the whole crowd gets involved at 3/4 time. even oppositon supporters love it!

I'm with the 'Don't like organised chants' crowd.

Don't mind spontaneous crowd outbursts. They tend to naturally occur at the right time (team needs encouragement, or triumphant gloating). Save the chants for when they mean something. Otherwise, they're just noise..........

the cheer squad have a couple of good chants but nobody knows the words so they just churn out that 'wogga wogga wogga' crap all the time.

Most of the chants aren't what you want young kids singing.

Keep the drunks right where they are.

Another reason why it won't be well received around the ground. Only song I'll be singing at the footy is our theme song.

Do you also plan on arranging the seating for 30+ guys just behind the cheer squad? Don't think that could happen.

I'm from Richmond
I'm true, err, yellow and black,
I'm from Richmond
Cut me some slack
I'm from Richmond
So they say
Tried to win a premiership
But went the other way
Drink it down, down, down....

I'm gonna look at this from a new age perspective. What I'd like to see is really, really loud techno after each goal with which we could pogo stick too.
Orrrrrrrrrrr
I could just sit and watch the ****ing game and sing the song at the end.

I'll take the second option please, I wouldn't attend every match in Melbourne if the first option happened and I ain't even a grumpy old man yet:eek:

I love our game for the game, not manufactured shit. Give me my cold pie and warm beer. Give me my bucket of chips for $10 (sauce will cost extra), and give me my YEEEELLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW AND BLACK at the end of the game and I'm done.

"TWO FOUR SIX EIGHT PLEASE GUYS DON'T ASPHYXIATE"

Best sung when we're up 2-3 goals in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.
