Probably the pre-eminent issue affect the Ammos at the moment, and I thought it'd be good to see what people think of grounds they've seen recently and how they'll hold up.

Junction Oval (Old Melbournians) will be fine, got its exemption and looks in good condition. Maybe a little harder than normal, but you'd play on plenty worse this season.

Maybe the exodus at Old Scotch has more to do with the condition of Camberwell Sports Ground than politics. Won't be much fun playing there this year. Very hard, grass is just in clumps, lot of dust ready to be rained on and turned to mud - which might be a blessing in disguise.

Old Mazenod's Central Reserve is supposed to be in great condition. It had an exemption throughout Summer because of it hosting the Victorian Women's Cricket team.

I'd guess that all the Bullen-based clubs would have grounds that are better than the average. I know that Old Carey is looking alright, Dunshea Oval especially. That other ground they use isn't too bad either.

What about the grounds that you've seen?

trinity's ground is looking the goods, its probably in better condition then sum afl grounds

bernards ground is better then average due to it having an exemption due to athletics

Melbourne Uni Oval not too bad considering...a bit patchy is some places and the outfield grass covering thinner than normal. However has a watering exemption due the VCA 1st X1 status. Turf wicket square in super shape and will be hosting the VCA 2nd X1 Semi Final this weekend and Grand Final next weekend. No football boots allowed during pre- season. However cops a hiding during the winter with Blues and Blacks ( 4 sides each training and 2 games each Saturday ) , Womens football Sundays ( 2 games ) , and Baseball training Wednesday nights as well as Uni College and casual use

elsty park, very patchy but getting better.

junction: been better but its perfect for footy.

Ross gregory (powerhouse) had an exemption and in good nick.

Doubt Reghetti will be too hard... as soon as it rains the good old riverbank oval will be soft and muddy again!

Scammell Reserve patchy but much better after the weekend rain. St.Johns ground ordinary.

Melbourne Uni Main Oval has been over-sown with winter rye grass yesterday and today.

With any luck it should germinate over Easter.
