We're going to flat track bully Richmond next week, club will beat their chest as usual.
If lynch can get off and they bring pressure we will see the same things..

Playing a run and gun style isn’t possible with our players we have about 5 skilled players and then a truckload of plodders and then once it’s turned over we have no one who can win a one on one.. the only way of getting the ball back is when the oppo scores

What we would do for a Sam Taylor type..

And our next coach has been part of the same bubble for three years. So is he the answer? I very much doubt it.

I heard a guy on AA last night saying performances like this are going to make Hinkley's life so hard in his last year. Oh boo hoo I thought, no they're going to make Carr's life hard because people are going to question whether someone from within this system can shake it up enough to get on a new track. And there it is.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just that your response is exactly what I could see happening. Carr is going to lose goodwill reserves at a rate of knots before he even starts. Even I was wondering it and I've been hanging onto the hope that he will be his own man and change it up.

I suspect Collingwood just went in with a similar mind set to the MCG game last year, I can't remember the comments out of the Collingwood rooms last year precisely but it was along the lines of us not liking pressure and we'll give up. Highly embarrassing to be thought of in that light.

Spot on.

It’s gonna be particularly galling when the usual pro-Hinkley chucklef-cks give it relentless, “WOW GEE, I GUESS A NEW COACH WASN’T THE ANSWER — YOU WANNA SACK HIM TOO?!”

Carr either had to take over immediately after the straight sets exit in 2023, or the club should’ve committed to a new broom with a completely open interview process after the contract extension ran out.

Nearly three full seasons after Tredrea’s ‘untenable’ bomb, with Carr — who will be 45 going on 46 when he takes the reins having been ensconced in this sh¡tshow for years since returning from Prospect — is an absolute p¡sstake.

Still would have preferred Bassett. Has the smarts and no bullshit attitude this joint needs.

Carr will be up against it before he starts. Next year should this year if they were serious but here we are. Easily 2 wasted changeover years… and they still want the cash from me to deliver what…

We're going to scrape past Richmond by three goals and Rozee will give an on field interview after the game where he says "what are all the haters saying now?". Bookmark it.
More likely to be his mum saying that speaking on his behalf

I don’t give a shit that we lost. I do give a shit that we lost by 15 ****ing goals. Round zero didn’t make that happen.
Yeah blaming round zero is a cop out. Brisbane didn't play last week either, but they ventured into enemy territory yesterday, and walked away with the 4 points.

If we can sort out our fitness, motivation, tactics and personnel mix, look out!
The Redbacks only had to fix their batting, bowling and fielding, and look at them now......

I agree Ford. Further, re last night. It was a complete lack of effort. Talent wise no excuses it was piss poor effort from most of the players. Also the powers that be and their reluctance to spend money on beefing up the football department is another reason we got smashed along with their cowardice to not make the decision to move on Hinckley and let Carr be in charge of his own team. It is going to be a long year and it is all down to the idiots in charge of OUR club. They are only bloody custodians and they will go down as the worst hierarchy in the history of the club. Bloody disgusting.

Ryan Harris changed a lot more than that.

He changed the training standards and challenged the players to do better and be mentally stronger when things are not going their way.

Well that was a hard watch . We were terrible , no pace , no fire and no clue .
Wines as second ruck is never going to work although he’s as slow and un athletic as a ruckman .
Georgiades was slack , SPP needs some games in the SANFL to get some form up .
This opening round certainly does no favours for the team on their first game .
I feel Drew has dropped off a bit including the last couple of games last year , hopefully he can lift again .
Mead and Jones were pretty much useless .we badly needed more in the midfield with Drew, Boak , Wines and Mead all being one paced and ineffective. That didn’t help our attack or defence .
Simply horrible performance, turn it around quick or it’ll be a long ugly season

Port Adelaide had:

No heart
Poor work rate, especially after half time
No pressure.
No real strategy or tactics. Drew on Naicos was good.
Poor skills because of no work rate.
And the worst, the coach or players no hurting over that debacle. We were politely gang graped.

This was a game we lost before a ball was bounced. A Hinkley Special.
Collingwood and every AFL club know if they bring good pressure to us then we would fold like a house of cards in the wind and we did.
The pressure of 'the decision' might weigh heavily on the team. We will see.
If we lose to Richmond, surely the knives are out.

Decent - Rozee, Farrell, Bergman, Sinn, Boak, Drew, Sweet, Evans, Horne-Francis.

Wines playing ruck is just disgusting.
Finlayson was terrible. He made Burton look accountable. They ran a train through him.
It is make or break for Lachie Jones. I've been waiting but it's not looking good.
Aliir was down.
Georgiades looks injured. I thought so in the preseason game too.
Zero leading from forwards.
Constant exploitation of weaknesses from McRae.

Drew quelled Naicos.
Sweet was up and about, maybe our best.
Sinn kept the dangerous Bobby Hill quiet.
Rozee kept at it and ran out the game.
Farrell and Bergman were not disgraced.
Evans not bad.
The Hornet tried but was well held.

I don't think there was a time when we outnumbered the opposition at any time.

The thing is it is not that we got eviscerated, it's that we just laid there and allowed it to happen.

I have no problem with Vic Metro kids going back to get away from Hinkley, Koch and this club. It won't bother me if Bergman and Butters go this year. It would be like escaping Footballing Purgatory.

The boys will be hoping for an easy, unaccountable game against Richmond next week. I hope the Tigers put in maximum effort to see what they can do.
