Drove past Frank's place last night with young Horace on board and did my best rendition of Frank, multiple times. Was roundly abused.
Was it like a free kick to Hawthorn? Edited...... hasn't come out right ......

Yep.

I didn't drill in deep enough into one of the studs so the plug is a few mm out of the wall...so the bracket is not flush so looks a little shitty.
Plug? In a stud wall?

Common practice. Keeps it all firm.

Wait a minu
Aren't plugs usually only used when screwing into masonry? Or are we talking about different plugs?

Yeh...drilled through the plaster into the house beam and pushed plugs into beam . Mount tv stand and screw bolts into the plugs in the beam. Tight and able to hold 20kgs. Where O made the mistake was to not get a blade and slice off the over hang of the plug to make it flush with the plaster. Hasn't failed me in 10 years...touch wood

Never heard of wall plugs used this way before, I use plugs in brick walls and timber screws directly into the stud (though the plaster) on stud walls. I built a new stud wall over the top of an ugly single brick feature wall just so I could mount a 60 inch tv and have a cavity to hide the cables etc.

Bunnings sell them for brick and timber in kits. Had a guy come and do the 40 inch last year and he did the same and charged $100 for 20 minutes work. **** dat.

Took a week or so to fully do the wall with the help of a mate who is much better at plastering. I fitted the wall mount myself and fixing it to the wall was the easy part, getting the ****er level was a bloody chore, got Mrs SB and Ms SB to help with lifting the tv up onto the bracket and move the cables out of the way, fair to say that after 5 times taking it back down the pressure was on to get the bugger right the 6th time, there were some grumpy old's that day....Mrs SB probably would have paid the $100.

edit: to be clear I managed to get the bracket perfectly level, it was the adjustments to the bracket mechanism that was so tricky and I didn't say goose either.

SO glad my name is not Adele......:D I think I know what she is, but have never heard her sing..( think she is a singer? )

Rosie is a far nicer name than Adele.
But you must have heard her sing ? have you not called a call centre or gone to the mall ?
She's the woman in the background howling about her boyfriend ditching her....
what else did she expect though ....she's called Adele for gods sake ! Not many blokes would want to stay with an Adele
