Correct.

Also heard a 3/4 push in marking contests is fine but a full push is deemed as 'two actions' and the culprit is to be hung til the neck snaps.

I said that before he even Played a AFL game and What I saw in the VFL Last Season.

He will be a Ripper.

How good he could be in his Prime is Scary

Most young ruckmen have a good leap. My worry with them is not sustaining it in the their later years. I would love to see Grundy preserved a bit in 2014 and played up forward a lot. I don't want him burnt out jumping up in ruck contests and coming down on his knee.
What we really need is Grundy to become a ruck beast and any one of our other potentials to become a competent ruckman, so both can extend each others career.

Ideally I'd love to us end up with tandem legitimate ruck beasts who could switch through CHF/CHB, but after the last 20 years that may be being a little to wishful.

This kid is our future. I have not been this impressed with a young guy since Pendles.

Unfortunately we may not see the best of him this year as he is still so young.

If we don't destroy him, I believe he could be one of our best ever rucks.

On a sidenote, I rated josh but we destroyed his career. Let's hope we don't do same with Grundy.

What about Beams. Hard not to be impressed with Beams from the get go.

I am really looking forward to the game against Carlton and not having Kruezer jump all over our rucks that will do me.
He played against some good ruckmen last season and none of them put the cleaners through him so great signs from him.

I was really impressed with
Grundy 23 hitouts, Goldstein 25 hitouts
Grundy 25 hitouts, Lobbe 29 hitouts
Grundy 23 hitouts, Cox 28 hitouts

PE is having a sideswipe at the rules people who always seem to change the rules to disadvantage Collingwood stars for example Dane Swan and the interchange cap :)

Yeah but the Ruck rules, how did they change?

If you have been around long enough...1980's .....you will know they ruck rules have changed to favor certain body types/tactics several times.
The circle, who can be in the circle and when, whether you can use your body, lift your knee etc have all been tweaked, revoked, re-implemented etc ad nauseum for as long as I can remember and every change has meant our current ruck stocks were on the wrong end of the change.

Didn't something like that happen to Steven McKee.

Hi, I'm Grundy.

PM me.

I like your positivity but who do we play ruck with grundy forward.

Hudson? Witts is not ready imo.

This is why I believe lynch is in our best 22. Not a great forward or ruck but decent enough at both.

Jesse white can not ruck imo

Leigh Brown couldn't ruck to save himself either. Grundy/White will be the go!

Hudson. Hudson played in the ruck when Witts was forward so why can't he play in the ruck when Grundy is forward?

I am a massive beams fan but I was just more excited with Pendles and Grundy. I believe the reason is they are both unique.

Pendles is the most unique player in the comp imo. Name another tall mid with his skills. There are other tall mids but not with his skills.

Grundy is unique in that he is number 1 ruck at the biggest club in Aus in his 2nd year. Maybe josh was too but we stuffed that. Only similar players in the modern era are nic nat and he has cox and leunberger but he had hudson.

Coz he can't play anywhere else when Witts and Grundy are rucking. IMO the ideal situation is Grundy rucking and Witts at full forward, neither Lynch or White get a game. But the way Jessie White is training and playing Witts may only get game time when Grundog gets a rest.

Didn't he kick a goal or two in the intraclub match?

His ruckwork aside, the dude is a natural footballer, his follow up work is impressive, he gets involved at ground level and he's composed with ball in hand and he's aggressive, long way to go obviously but the signs couldn't be any better IMO.

He could end up being wasted in the Ruck.
