Waiting on Saints to make decision. Would be great for him if got the job but hope he stays with us. I was hoping he will replace Malthouse when he retires with Nathan Buckley as one of his assistants and heir apparent.

Guy McKenna looks like a future coach, no doubt, however with Gavin Brown, who has been an assistant for the last 4-5 years, and learned the caper as well as he can, considering his leadership was a major quality as a footballer, it is good to see him get a gig as the Williamstown coach for 2007, introducing him into the no.1 man.

With Mick Malthouse having one year on his contract, being 2007, it is a good time to give Rowdy the go, and it also gives Bucks (future coach of Collingwood) some time to get into the role, even if he wouldn't need it.

Therefore, McKenna, who seems a very knowledgable assistant to have, won't be a coach of Collingwood, as I see the two sons of the 90's, likely to have it covered.

Can’t have Brown and Buckley together IMO. At least not early on. They have basically both come up under the same coaching. If Brown proves himself at Willi then Buckley has to go elsewhere to get his experience and at best that makes him a pong term replacement for Brown if the starts align at the time (see Hawthorn and Mathews) or a fall back if Brown fails in which case his outside experience would be vital.

Meanwhile we should look at Voss in 2008. Eddie should talk to him about getting good media gigs in Melbourne in 2007 and a role at Collingwood with a view to a full time position in 2008.

That REALLY REALLY reminded me of Leigh Mathews, Hawthorn and Lions!

Imagine that!

We let Bucks go, he ends up being one of the best coaches, wins a a few flags with some team, we never get him back, while every year, rumours have it that Eddie has signed him as our coach, that'd be scary if we play like the Hawks too!!
