Has it's ups and downs. I suggest stay single if you can't find a decent girl or guy. Less heartache, less of a hole in your pocket, less time wasted on someone who wasn't worth it.
Having said that, on the other hand - having a girlfriend (the right type of girl, down to earth.. very nice & (attractive if that counts to you) can be the best feeling. Having someone to share experiences and enjoy time with being single will never beat that.. but, BUT if you're planning to go out with someone you don't know for the sake of it.. it could prove to be a waste of time.
On second thoughts you may be lucky

Good to see though that even at your age you have the sense to have some different beliefs to others. 
Basically, the only things I am really strange about are one-night stands. They aren't for me. And I won't just sleep with a guy for the sake of it. I'm not saving myself for marriage or anything

My advice is to be honest. Chicks love honesty.
I always tell a girl that I want to sleep with her. Even if they act disgusted, you can tell their curiosity has been twigged and they are interested. And if they don't slap you in the face, you know you are a good chance to have some fun with them. Girls enjoy casual sex as much as guys. At least in my experience they do.
I admit I've cheated on my missus heaps and heaps of times, but she doesn't know, we are both happy, and and we love each other. And I know how to separate sex and love. I suppose you can say I want my cake and want to eat it too, and if you can do it, then go for it! But with chicks in general, honesty is the best policy. Just tell them you are only interested in sex, and they will appreciate the honesty. You will be suprised how much chicks will like it. Normally they're not used to guys coming up to them telling them that so forwardly, and for them, it's a refreshing change. So, if you do, you're in with a good chance for some hot sex action.
I guarantee, (and many chicks on here will attest), if you are a guy and you are honest with them and tell them you only want to have a causal f**k, a lot of the time it will pay off. If you say what's on your mind, you are being yourself. Right girls?
