Any of you out there?

Though I have only been going 3 months I am fast finding myself planing my day/life around sessions at the gym.
Its constantly at the back of my mind that I should be there.
And after a session I am buggered but this calm feeling I dont have before the gym.

Can't stand missing more than 2 days. Which dosen't help over xmas as my gym has **** house holiday hours. Bastards. Don't try to plan other activities around it.There is nothing decent at all on tv these days (minus the simpsons) so I aint missing much, excercise is fun.

We have a gym at work and was going 2 out of 3 days but due to freaking liability they changed the rules and we weren't allowed to go in there without someone else. Most people weren't dedicated enough to keep going regularly and I was getting a bit jumpy missing out so join up with BC's (which is a 2 minute walk from the front door :))

I think it's addictive, but a good addiction.

When I played football I was a junkie. Creatine, protein, colstrum.. You name, I took it. Put on 8kg of muscle in the space of 2 months, a idiotic situation.

I would run minium 8km's per day and then do a hour session of weights. As a guide I did a few runs and swims against Ben and Nick Holland, Duncan Kellaway and rotinuely kicked their ass.

You all right Rohan?
You're name dropping, you're $ worth dropping.....
Feeling a little insecure or unloved?

It's superficial I guess but being cut, having big muscles and strong makes you feel good. I did it for the beach and the preseason.
I go to the gym because I am at the age where you have to do exercise or you balloon. Other than that, not particularly interested.

I laugh at all the people who so feel insecure about themselves that they have to take roids to make them feel good about themselves. Or the guys who are so supericial they go to the gym, big themselves up, and then take their shirt of at the drop of a hat. Completely transparent and try-hard.

Female around the age of 18?

Yes I know what your talking about so many lost souls :( :(

So many for my year were hot and had bodies to die for but it seems as soon as they hit 18 they let themselves go.
Thunder thigh city with a beer gut to boot... o how tragic

I must admit that when I go out and see bouncers being knobends, or guys really showing off and being tools, I start to feel deep regret that I didn't start martial arts as an eight year old.

Fortunatley for me, I'm a guy of 32 - which is equivalent to where girls are at 18! No hail damage on my body.:D

Your a guy??
After all this time I thought you were female like I_luv_westcoast....
Either way isnt it natures cruelest joke to take away those taught trim bodies just when there getting to an age that there going to put them to use...
On the bouncer issue...sure they think there tough stuff but just remind them that they cant make a career out of being a bouncer and tell them in 10 years time you will return to laugh at what they have become.
And those guys acting like ****ers...let the bouncers deal with them

roids take the whole challenge away the best thing about it is spending many house building yaself up and then being able 2 show off ur hard work

So you stopped cause you don't play any more? You pussy. :)

Colstrum is glorified protien powder. And sabre, if you're ever gonna buy supplements, stay clear of 'soy protien', it tastes like ****.

This is what I wanted to ask...
What else should I be eating etc and are the protien drinks and that worth it..

Start of by eating no **** at all, (like maccas etc) just keep it healthy for a few months. Pending on how you feel, start protein shakes etc. If you can't be arse spending $80 for a 3kg bucket, there are cheaper alternatives. Eggs, just the whites with low fat milk, as shakes. That's pretty rich though and you end up smelling like a corpse. Sustagen sport is pretty good, relatively high in protein vitamins. Under $10 for a tin mixes easy and tastes great.

I didn't take creatine until after I'd trained for a while, a few years. And then, that stuff cost a ****load. It worked for me, but dosen't work for everyone and to see any results you really have to train well. No slacking off.

It depends what you want to build up to, or trim down, what time of the year you want to look your best etc. But at the moment, 3 months really IMO enough time to justify spending big $'s on supplements.

I am now going to the gym again.

This is for several reasons...

1. I am horribly out of shape and would actually like to look at myself in the mirror without cringing

2. It gives me something to do and helps with frustration

3. I am very insecure about how I look to the opposite sex and for some bizarre reason think it will help me attract them (hey at least I can admit it! :) )

I am surprised that I am enjoying going alone... I used to go with my friend who would "spot" me, but as he lost interest so did I... so far, enjoying it, regardless of the results.

Sbagman.

Thanx M29 for the advice..
I think 80 dollars is way out of my price range and I hate to admit it but I eat just as much junk food.
One thing I have noticed is that I am eating heaps more than I used to
