Cain Ackland. There is SOOO much not to like about the guy. This thread is just for people to vent about what they dislike most about him, why he should have never been picked (He was a no.1 in the PSD if I am not mistaken) and the MOST UN-MEMORABLE MOMENTS we have on Ackland.

From being a second-rate ruckmen who ate up $350k a year, to starting a fight at training. Lets hear everything we've got on this guy and hopefully he gets permanently relegated to the 2nds.

(Also, to spare the guy ;D, lets just keep all criticisms of Ackland in this thread from now on in)

What if he surprises a few people and actually has a go this year? Know where you are coming from but the less we see of this type of thread and the more we see of Hammer and MK tearing it up the better off the site will be.

Putting the boots into a struggling player seems largely pointless to me.

Even if we agree with you we would rather look at all the positives our club has.
Ackland still contribites especially when we had little alternative last year.

He is earning $360k a year and pulling on a Carlton jumper .

This whole Ackland thing seems to me as though it's just one sheep following the other. One guy says their dislike for the guy last year, another picked, so on and so forth.

Why is there a need to hate they guy? Hate is a strong word, and nobody, especially somebody that most likely none of us know personally. I admit, his on field skills were not the greatest last year, but at the end of last year, neither were Judds, yet people on here still go on about him being the messiah.

2008 is a new year, keep your sledges to yourselves until you see what each guy comes up with on the field THIS YEAR.

Everyone is positive about 08. But let's not hide from the fact the Ackland hasn't brought anything to the club. He doesn't compete much on field, he puts in too many sub standard efforts on a regular basis. Hopefully Hampson gets first crack in the ruck this year

Ackland gave the club a massive helping hand last year. Imagine if we didn't have Ackland as an option in the Ruck. It would involve dragging Setanta up, weakening our backline even more.

Ackland has actually brought something, and it's unfair for people to rate Judd so highly and give Ackland peanuts. Judd hasn't exactly done anything at the club.

Cloke injured etc etc. He still gave it a go and what was the alternative. Setanta did well but Ackland although not the best by afar still filled a void.
This kind of logic would be followed by
well Fev has had an attitude several times. We shouldn't play him, and cut him ASAP. Lets just see how they go. Applaud them if they do well and crucify them if they don't come up to scratch. He has a contract for 08 so it is up to him. Ratts won't tolerate substandard efforts!

This has nothing to do with Judd. Ackland offered nothing, gave nothing and i really fail to understand how you could think he contributed to the team. If you are satisfied with his efforts, you must have really enjoyed the last few years at Carlton

He sure does and yes, Ratts wont accept efforts that are sub standard so look out for Hampson and Cloke to get first crack in the ruck this year
