Hack Merrett has come out and stated that he thinks shitters should be sacked so he can get paid more, despite his last contract extension reportedly netting him a cool $5 million, as well as receiving a pay rise in the off season to try and stave off interest from the mighty St. Kilda

This might be far too measured and thought out for The Bay but I can see him signing a 1 year extension with us to take him though until the end of 2027 and then assess where we’re at from there.

If we’re trending in the right direction and looking like we’ll be in the finals mix, then he signs a deal that takes him through to free agency.

If we’re still a basket case, he leaves and I don’t think anyone will blame him for that. He’s too talented a player to piss his career away at the bottom of the ladder.
