I thought this deserved its own thread as It's such such a magnificent game and one of the outstanding titles to be released this year.

I finally got stuck in today and reached the first boss but couldn't beat her.

Who else has been playing Hades?

Me. Fantastic game. My GOTY and I haven't even beat the final boss yet haha. Have lost to them twice
Great game to pick up and play on the switch that turns into a 3 hour session haha.

My favourite weapon is the shield of aegis, also like the fists quite a bit.

Reached Elysium the other day.

I got to the boss of Elysium once and got killed. Haven't made it back yet. Great game.

Completed it for the first time using the spear.

Getting the right combination of boons on a run is so important.

I've been keeping an eye on it since early access and, similar to dead cells, it's been well worth the wait. I love this game.

Played when it first came into alpha and just started playing again. Big fan of of all Supergiant games.

Roughly how many hours has it taken everyone to beat it?

I'm pretty notoriously slow at beating games. I'm already enjoying all the new and fresh interactions upon every re spawn so hopefully that doesn't get old.

My god this game is gaming perfection.

Took me about 15 runs to beat the final boss, was then up until 1am last night as I beat him 3 times in a row.
Game really opens up once you unlock a few more things and the game just keeps giving.

I absolutely loved Dead Cells and think this is better in nearly every way.

It would be crazy to see this win GOTY in a year of TLOU2 and GoT.

Anyone on the fence, buy it!! even if you're not a huge rogue-like fan, this game offers more than most in the genre.

Also a huge **** you to games that are $120 when I paid $13 for this and it's probably better than most "AAA" games.

Dead cells always felt like i'd have a build that felt strong, not feeling it as much with this but i'm getting there. Some weapons feel shit (Railgun i'm looking at you)

No I mostly use the power shot, it’s especially good when you get the boon so you can shoot out three shots.

Having a good cast boon is also important.

Cast is the thing I ignore the most. There's one boon I really like for it but all the others i've tried have been a bit meh.

The ice one is super strong, especially against bosses.

Also the homing arrow that has high crit can be very good.

The Zeus one that bounces is great for taking out heaps of the smaller enemies at once.

Yeah cast is just a way to get a bonus 50% damage for me

I didn't think much of cast at first either but with the right boons it can be great.

Now that I've powered up a fair bit I clear entire rooms using only cast and breeze through the first two areas, runs don't really get difficult until the third boss.
