It certainly was an odd thing to do.

Anyone else finding the club and players have been very quiet since Friday night?

Surprise, surprise, an Adelaide supporter didn't find it funny. This was posted on the main board:

Good to see Harry Taylor not giving a **** about the result. Maybe cats fans have lower standards for their team but a loss like that doesnt lend itself to jokes.

Id be fuming if I knew a crow was making jokes after the reverse fixture earlier.

Half the reason you cant find a player with heart anymore is that they stopped caring about results and just want to take the paycheques. Or hold midweek"all about me" pressers.

Thanks AFLPA for striving for those safe spaces for all players. Its turning into U12s where noone cares about the score.

Give me strength.

Oh yay, a somewhat colourful, ultimately trivial anecdote about a player acting mildly quirky just went public. Can't wait for every second interview Harry does from now on to feature mention of this ala the way Cold Rock gets brought up with Cam Guthrie. I love it when stories that are vaguely entertaining at first are referenced so often they have all the joy and life sucked out of them. Good times. :rainbow:

Things are out of control at the club, first Danger with his banged up press conference and now ham gate with Harry, Cats taking the piss everywhere!!! How about they all focus on actually winning the games instead of worrying about stupid crap like that, im all for personalities in the games but there is a time and place for that crap.

It was weird. A reasonable amount of effort for minimal laughs.
Did he go to the deli, buy some ham and play with it his sock for a couple of hours just to do that?
Did he get a runner to bring it out to him?
Weird Harry.
Our new shorts have a pocket, so I'm presuming that's where the ham was? Surely a runner wouldn't have agreed to be in on it.

Like it. Brings some personality. Can't question Taylors dedication, we know he's meticulous with his preparation. Weird yes but I like it, everyones always complaining about the lack of personalities but then outraged when it happens.

These are the kind of stories people talk about in years to come. It builds the character and legend of AFL. I'm all for it.

Certainly some sour cats on this board.

Now this is hard to explain but IMO there was a method to this madness. It wasn't a joke.

Harry was looking ahead to perhaps the next time he will be playing on Jenkins, probably in a final. It's all about getting inside his head and encouraging Jenkins to associate ham (which considering that he just suffered food poisoning he wouldn't be too fond of) with Taylor himself & perhaps even the club so that those memories and feelings of when he was sick come flooding back to him the next time that we play them. He's attempting to get inside his sub conscious.

This proves that Harry is definitely a deep thinker, that's for sure...

If Jenkins ends up playing poorly in a final against us Taylor will come out of this looking like an absolute genius.

If Jenkins ends up playing a blinder against us then Taylor will come out of this looking like an absolute idiot... :D

I don't think that your analysis proves that he is a deep thinker

Maybe you are both deep thinkers :D:p
