how far can you handball? i can go about max. 15m but want to find out how to get it further, as it is a great tool to break open congestion in games. any ideas?

I can do about 20m max, which can be really useful sometimes, especially for clearing the ball out of a pack.

I'm not sure how to handball further, but I guess you could relate it to kicking, eg. hit the right spot on the ball and try not to hit it too hard, as it will just roll 5m in the opposite direction.

Hope I've helped...

30m+ on my right, 25m on the left, key is to get the hand holding the ball swinging forward and timing the hit point well, obviously doing this while moving is alot easier than doing it flat footed but as with kicking timing, balance and weight distribution are the important elements

20-25 on right, 10-15 on left.

phantom pretty much has it bang on:thumbsu:

Although just another thing, on my left hand i kind of throw it out to get more distance. Still accurate just doesnt spin correctly.

Focus on making sure you have a full back swing, this ensures that the stretch reflex mechanism in your muscles is working to its maximum capacity.

You could also look doing some strength/power work in your Anterior(Front) Deltoids, Biceps and even forearm muscles.

Or you could cheat a little, and actually use your knuckles to kind of punch the ball... can tend to get some distance, as opposed to the normal handball.

Ive always done this and as a skinny 15 year old I can handball 20-25 on my right about 10-15 on my left.

Punch it with the first knuckle. So much easier

I have been able to practice this quite alot as i have OP and dont kick often. 25metres on right pushing for 30 wouldnt be quite there yet, 15 max on left still working on it.

the key is to get the correct motion as you would do for a through, as you bring your arm back all of the weight should be on your back foot as you swing forward thats when you transfer your weight forward and it you connect it properly it will go far, but plenty of practice is the key, not too much as it can give you a brused fist

It's all the technique. I keep telling my mates (who are stronger than me) that it's technique and they don't listen. I'd say about 70% technique, swinging the hand forward as you hit it at the right level.

About 20-25 metres on my left. Have no idea about my right would be about 60% of that. All my handballs in footy are only out of packs, I would rather use the ball by foot.
