Okay now that trade week is over we effectively made the one trade:
Geelong traded Brent Moloney (to Melbourne) and Draft Selection 16 (to Richmond) for Brad Ottens.
As said early four players must go to make way for the minimum 3 draft selections (32, 48, 64) and Shannon Byrnes.
Lets presume Salary Cap is not an issue. We could delete Daniel Foster (uncontracted), David Loats (1 year left), Will Slade (1 year left) and maybe Cameron Thurley (1 year left).
I've got no hassle with paying out Loats, Thurley and Slade while just ridding ourselves of Foster. If we pay them out we don't have to redraft them.
Maybe redraft Will Slade with 64? Go with two 18 year olds with 32 and 48. Looks good to me.
The question that comes on my mind with players like Rahilly and Spriggs on the market how come we couldn't trade anything for them. Surely we could have got a draft selection under 64? Or were we too busy with Ottens. Not trading Spriggs or Rahilly makes Geelong lose some of the gloss of getting Ottens.
On the upside no one being after Spriggs could give him a huge kick up the ass and make him return to his 2000 form/promise. Maybe Spriggs not going would be decent. Not sure.
I'd keep both Rahilly and Spriggs rather than delist them - they could come in handy.
