While I know this thread may quickly succumb to the abyss (i.e. Page 2) I have to ask in the vain hope someone may have words of wisdom for me.

Does anyone have any information on a game on a PS1 demo disc that I believe was either called Gravitron or based upon Gravitron. Two players controlled a fantastic triangle and could fly around collecting powerups that changed how your triangle fired dots. Also it was one of those games where unless you did it 100% correct, if you touched anything, you died.

A name of the game, the demo disc number, words of encouragement, all are appreciated!

Cheers in advance :thumbsu:.

Re: Cry for help :'(

You mean like the arcade game Asteroids?

Very very similiar in appearance. Main difference is the word was flat and set as opposed to Asteroids.

I'm actually of the opinion it won't appear in that link. From what I remember the demo disc contained games created using some program for the playstation...like amateur programmers I think.

2 people controlled one triangle or were there 2 triangles connected to each other?

Each player controlled their own triangle (Ship).

Three more replies than expected :D

Re: Cry for help :'(

you mean net yaroze? ie: the programmable Playstation?

that brings back memories

anyways I have sacrificed a virgin to Google and this is what he spat out

is this what you're talking about?

if so google is pleased

This is an indie game apparently on the pc..... might be related....

http://xout.blackened-interactive.com/Gravitron.html

there is a copy on that website

Gravitron is inspired by classic games such as Thrust and Oids.
Pilot your space craft through dangerous caverns while fighting gravity and an assortment of enemies.

Unfortunately I have taken this game down, due to online scanners detecting adware..
Now I have no idea where this has come from, and would never put anything like this is my games - hence its removal.
Its a damn shame, since I lost all src code to these games when my last pc died.

You can still play the Gravitron2 demo for free here which has been tested and clear.
Sorry.

Due to a number of requests, I have put this game back online.
Use at your own risk.

The game is called gravitation....surely this is what you're talking about.

This is a video of the Net Yaroze game Gravitation, created by James Shaughnessy. It was featured on Official UK PlayStation Magazine's demo disc 17 volume 2 as a full game.

btw...... apparently James Shaughnessy now works for Codemasters

SCED 01144, Euro demo 34 packaged with OAPSM issue 13 in paper sleeve
Playable: Bomberman World, Colin Mcrae Rally, Dead or Alive, Deathtrap Dungeon, Gran Tursimo, Klonoa, Wargames, WcW Nitro, Ny: Gravitation
Video: Net yaroze advert, Circuit breakers

should be pretty easy to find a copy on a net ..... just google for it

I wonder if it works on psp..... looks reasonably fun multiplayer

ps: if you're searching for it.... make sure you search for net yaroze and gravitation.....

because gravitation is kinda a popular manga/anime..... of the yaoi variety...

ie: guy guy loving....

;)

Re: Cry for help :'(

1,500 auctions searched and around 50 emails sent -.-

Now I wait I suppose...

No-one happens to have a copy of demo disc 13? Will pay $s :)

Re: Cry for help :'(

hmmm...... think it'll be pretty hard to find a genuine physical copy of the demo disc..... are you trying to play it on your actual playstation?

there seems to be plenty of ripped versions on the internet... should work fine on emulators like epsxe or a psp (which has its own ps1 emulator builtin but you might have to convert it to an eboot)

eg: this link seems to have working megaupload links to a demo disc with a net yaroze game called gravitation (plus other stuff)

bout 300mbs and password protected with "http://snesorama.us" .... my adsl has been capped so too slow to test it >,>

OR

if you just want the net yaroze games....

this link apparently has 83 net yaroze games in 1 including gravitation only 33 mbs

Actually think I've found a hard copy of the game on eBay. After searching and searching I finally read your posts with un-tear filled eyes and discovered I should be searching for Gravitation instead of Gravitron. Now I just wait and watch before pouncing :).

Certainly owe you one...just not sure how favours are repaid over the inter-webs :/

Midori will call in his favour at a time of his choosing. You know how the Nintendo mafia work.
