DAMIEN Hardwick's playing journey to the AFL's 200 club came under the senior tutelage of just two men - Kevin Sheedy and Mark Williams. While Sheedy at Essendon would never have believed his ruthless defender would finish up coaching, Hardwick's transformation at Port Adelaide convinced Williams he was made for the job.​

A really good read, and insight into Dimma's development. Interesting for me personally as M. Williams was my P.E teacher when he crossed from Port to the magpies.

Good read that, I never saw much of Hardwick in his playing days - never paid much attention to the Bombers or Port...

Also interesting to read that when he moved to S.A that Port were ahead Essendon in their IT setup. Working in IT, it would be interesting to see just what sort of gear and setups the AFL clubs use.

Count our lucky stars he never went to Melbourne. Out of the pool of coaches available at the time, we definitely got the best one.
