Slatey Creek nose would be covered in shit. He ran up a thousand backsides! Probably should have stayed on the inside but not sure how much good even that would have done.
He will win a few for sure.

Thanks for that. How would you rate a matching with Life Sign?

You knocked back DJ ! You waiting for a Somebeachsomewhere type animal? lol

Yeh 3 in 2weeks. Think the dates are March14,21,28.

Fair go. DJ was only a yearling at that stage. I part owned his 1/2 sister, but she wasn't much good. There was another one by VJ I think, but we found it dead in the paddock from a snake bite. More bad luck!

Yeah. Not sure why he didn't get down to the skunk lane. It's been a while since he's driven in a race, so maybe he forgot there was one. Looks like a staying type though.

Sting Lika Bee would be worth a try. He has the Abercrombie/ Big Towner cross, but the other way. There is another one with a real good cross, but i know nothing about it, V P Finance. It stands at Cold Mountain stud in Queensland.

The Bee seems even better because he raced in Aust. He is well bred too with brother twice as good him.
VP Finance does not look to enticing to say the least.

Something I always liked to keep an eye on(admitedly though with greyhounds) was beautifully bred animals still racing and with the right bloodlines to cross with a bitch I might have had at the time.

Owners often like to have a few progeny about to hit the track just as the animal is near retiring or just retired so as to get their names out there.

If had a well bred mare i'd almost be tempted to approach others with such a proposal if their was a suitabloe horse going round at present.

Actually the owner if Lisa Don was thinking about that. But went to NZ for the Cup and settled on Bettors Delight.
He would be relatively cheap and I think his dam actually won the Aus Derby.

Yeah good old Misty Wiper.

Which means she's probably a Windshield Wiper mare.

Had a quick look and he was around $3000 a service.Which sounds cheap to me as that's similar to some greyhound sires prices.

Misty Maiden! Jet Laag would be better I reckon. Although LPW is royally bred, I wasn't that blown away by his racing career, as i was with say an Elsu or Sting Lika Bee. Perhaps that was because he didn't really stand out in the open ranks. He probably raced one too many seasons as far as getting breeders really enthusiastic about sending their best mares to him. Just my opinion, time will tell.

Ah yeah that's her.

I was close but no cigar.

Interesting you say he raced one too many seasons, as i'd have thought he actually retired earlier than most stallions seem to retire in general in Australia.

He was a 5yo when they pulled the pin wasn't he?

I seem to remember(what little memory i have) that of the few horses i remember going to stud did so around the 6-7 yo mark.

Most Aus GC horses are geldings and don't have the oppurtunity to go to stud. Going by memory but Our Sir Vancelot raced his career out as did Courage Under Fire. Christian Cullen was hampered by injuries not sure when they pulled the pin. Young Rufus suffered injuries but still raced on, Falcon Strike altho he did serve for one season at about 5 raced his career out to the end. Sting Lika Bee was also 9 when injury cut his career short.
LPW was indeed 5. Len Smith Mile was his last run i believe.

I Am Sam is out of the Treuer with a hoof infection. Bad luck to Natalie Rasmussen and connections.

Did anybody watch Rc5 at Menangle. Darren Hancock on Jaccka Ewen drawn 10, outside of front row. As they are scoring up he takes his true position then about 100m before release point he slows down and heads off towards the pegs. He was directly behind the 7 horse at the point of no return.

I remember years back Hancock had a bad habit of ending up on the rails and an even worse habit of using his drive as a battering ram to push out off the fence.

I can vividly recall him doing it at HP on more than a few occasions.

Terrible driver.

Hey CB. Check out the winners breeding in the first at Nyah. Absolutely spewing! $13.60! Saw it's breeding the other night but didn't think to have anything on it.:(

Spewing I missed that. The siblings are on fire at the moment. Lisa Don had her foal to Aces And Sevens last week hopefully she can fire as well ;).

Blackie had a bad back apparently. Good news I guess.

Just noticed Hutchy's tips for MV today.

Gives his best as R7 H2 then takes 8 horses in that leg of his suggested quad?

Hedging his bets Seth !

A good race just witnessed at Young. The $8000 Cherry Festival Cup but could easily be mistaken for a Metro race, should be worth $20'000. Dymondee the winner.

Agreed, were some excellent metroplitan graded performers going around, not often we are gifted with such a race in the bush!

Tonkin sure got some into that, even punctured Rixons tyre ;). Well the 1st bits probably true.
Iron Hudge didnt disgrace himself. Misty Miller well done for third.
But Pecker, Karloo Mick is back :thumbsu:. Hopefully he can improve even more on that!
But Robin Hood. Geeze. Ive said it before but this horse would not be in anybodys top10 horses of the century but he has won 3 Grand Circuit races!
