I think that Harry Potter the Movie is not very good. I went to see it with a friend and it is no way near as good as the books. I've read them all. It misses all the detail.

well they had to miss some bits, cause it would be like 4 hours long if they included the extra parts in.

Remember, Harry Potter is children's fiction. The movie is as close a recreation of the books as you could get without it turning into a 6 hour mini-series.

Apart from the length of the film, which is too long, it is a good film. But others will think it is too short. But I was happy with the film after reading the books.

Harry Potter has now grossed 239 million dollars in 4 weeks at the US Box Office. It passed the 200 million dollar mark in 15 days, behind only SW1 which passed it 2 days quicker in 13. Potter is now 21st on the all time list and should break 300 million to be just the 10th film in history to go past that milestone. There was talk of 400 million earlier in its run but it now has no chance as the film has slowed considerably. It finished second this weekend behind a strong 38million opening weekend from Oceans Eleven.

Everyone now looks forward to ten days time when LOTR opens across America. Will it break every record in the book, will it get more money than Potter, will it break 400 million. Only time will tell.
