Yes. It is not like anything you see on TV or the movies where some random clucks like a chicken and falls asleep on demand. True hypnotism is about accessing the sub consciousness and been open to suggestion. I actually think it would only work if you wanted to discover something/quit a habit and thus are open to suggestion.
