Chris Grant should be able to do just as well as Hird at Essendon, but then again is Hird the real coach or is it Thompson?
Realistically though and given the cut throat nature of AFL, if we have just a handful of wins at the end of the season, then Eade could not survive the cut, even if it's not all his fault.

The Pies nearly gave Malthouse the flick when they crashed for a bit after their back to back Grand Final appearances. Think they're pretty glad they didn't.

Again, the club shouldn't make a rash decision about it. He could be as good a bloke as any to be in charge of rebuilding.

They should be playing at very least to justify the large amounts of money our debt laden club pays them. Or for the jumper, the club, the team.

Seriously we need to get a new team not a coach if thats the case.

Can't re-call last time, anywhere in the world,in any professional competition,where a sporting organisation has kept a coach/manager and
sacked the players.
Doubt Smorgon,Garlick and Fantasia will choose Eade over the players.

I've been an Eade supporter - but when we continually get beaten by teams that put pressure on the ball carrier, the finger has to be pointed at the coach. We aren't well drilled. We're tactically 5 years behind the curve.

Time to go I think.

Agree, the game has changed so much this season and Eade has been floundering tactically.

We won't have to sack him if we play like this because he will walk.
He will not put up with an unresponsive group for the rest of the year.
His reputation would become too damaged.
He is gone unless there is a huge turnaround and I can't see it happening.

I think we just need to come to a gentleman's agreement.

Season is over. Play the kids. He walks at the end of the year/last month of the season.

If Cameron was still at the club he would be the coach next week, i would be shocked if Eade saw out the season. Hell id be shocked if Paul Williams isnt out coach with in a month.

We should merge with Greater Western Sydney and get it over and done with. Losing is like a terminal illness this club will never shake. Seriously it's time to accept it and move on.

I can't recall the last time we lost like this. Was it 1996? If so, perhaps it's an omen. We need a new coach NOW!!

I've been his biggest fan but his time is up. But we need to cull this list as well. There's about 12 senior blokes I would be trading out at the end of the year.

Eade has had his time and does not have it. Tactically is years behind and showed it with todays performance. Doggies were playing three year old football against a team that is playing modern footy and Eade had no idea on how to change this.

He is overrated.

I felt that Eade should have gone at the end of 2009, but that's only my opinion.

At this stage you guys should keep Eade untill the season ends, or you could risk a mini re-build mid-season that you don't need.

Maybe his message has got a bit old , eventually the move needs to be made .Give one of the assistants a go until the end of the season .

But its obvious that there is no respect there between player and coach, so its certainly time for a change IMO

Eade hasnt been the worst, but its time to part ways as he has done all he can and we need fresh ideas and a fresh approach

Can't see it happening. Our assistants are all specialists in certain parts of the ground. Can't see Montgomery, Dean or Williams getting the main gig anytime soon. They'll wait to the end of the season and see who's available.
