I was just skipping through the game against Geelong from saturday and noticed that Bling was chasing alot harder than he has been this year.

One instance where Ling had the ball on the HBF. Bling put his head down and chased even though Ling was easily going to get the ball away. Ling handballed and Bling kept goin and actually laid a pretty solid tackle from what i could see (before the camera panned away from him).

Maybe getting dropped has given him a kick up the ass. Hopefully he has had a think about what it takes to be an AFL footballer and has started to put his head down and do the hard yards.

It takes more than one game to turn the corner BUT I reckon you may be right. I thought the way he was taking people on, getting the ball in close and trying to use his pace to break through, was a real improvement. As long as he's prepared to back himself he should start improving quickly. Don't mind the odd error or bad disposal as long as it's through being bold, rather than being timid.

he looked to be getting more involved with the rough stuff in and around packs too, and just in general lookign to win more of the hardball. it will equate to nothing if he doesn't learn how to win it though. of course, it was against geelong. tommorows night game will be interesting

Yeah i am looking forward to see how he goes this week. Hopefully he wont go back to the Tambling we have all got to know this year.
Hopefully he'll keep chasing hard, tackling hard and get plenty of the ball. Get the confidence up for 2008.

Terry is right about this kid, he got tackled a lot on the weekend, but that suggests only one thing, he's going in hard to get the ball... I'm looking forward to tomorrow night.

Come on Bling....Play on instinct son...Run hard....Tackle hard and for god sake put on some weight over the pre season

From the stats it was a pretty good game from Bling (haven't seen the game yet - no Foxtel), so if he keeps up that form for the remainder of the season, then yeah, I'd say he's stepped up a notch.

Anyone who saw him at Coburg would be able to say that he is more than capable of going in hard.

Against Geelong he went in at about 60% to what his natural game is... more will come with an increase in body weight over the next 2 years.

Let's not forget two things:

1. He finished 4th in the pre season training competition (shows he works hard).

2. He was leading the Richmond tackle count before he injured his shoulder, this shows he wasn't soft despite still being skinny.

Make no mistake, he must improve. There are some who are over the top in bagging him out of frustration at seeing Buddy do well (notice how since Buddy hasn't been playing the abuse has gone down?)

what he produced on saturday v the cats needs to be his minimun effort. If he's to be any good he needs to lift however his worst efforts to date have been pathetic...lets hope he has turned the corner

Thanks for bringing us back down to earth BOj. Almost got carried away with patriotism there for a second.
