In the spirit of looking back and comparing players/things, I thought I would throw this question out there. Hopefully it makes more sense than my Judd vs. Kouta thread did 
We know that Brendan Fevola is 3rd on Carlton's all-time list of goalkickers with 575 goals in the Navy Blue. Slightly lower on the list is Lance "Big Red" Whitnall, who bagged 348 goals for his Carlton career.
My question to you has a couple of parts. If Whitnall had been healthy throughout his entire career, and had been used permenantly as a forward instead of being thrown down back, who do you think would have eventually been the better goal-scorer? Also, who do you think would have proven to be the best OVERALL forward? That includes offensive AND defensive skills/efforts, as well as teamwork, footy IQ and so on.
