Sad thing for Fog is that if he had kicked is set shots from 20m it would have been a pretty decent goal game
Yep,
Did enough around the ground to be involved and stop their run from defence but when those shots are missed it is sometimes the difference between winning and losing.
The problem with Fog is that those 2 sets shots are not outside the norm, in fact when he was kicking for goal the first time, I thought he is less than a fifty fifty to put it through.

Just watching the replay of the last quarter.

We have to just keep playing Moir. He may never be a big possession winner but gee he has some tricks. There is almost a bit of Cyril about him the way he pounces on the ball and his sidestep.
Yeah I watch him closely, he has tricks most of our list just doesn't have.

He'll absolutely tear a game apart one day, all going well.

as frustrating as it is to see once again we can play brilliant football in patches against goo opposition but have lapses that cost us massively - given the inexperienced team we put out there were quite a few positives.

Really liking the progress of Cooper Lord, averaged 23 touches and 10 tackles over the last 2 weeks while doing a great negating role on a couple of the better mids in the comp - while Lachie Cowan is showing that he could be a very good half back going forward and O Hollands is starting to grow into the rebounding half back role - just needs to tdiy up his kicking a bit.

I would also say that I hope McKay's game might silence those calling for him to be traded - the last 2 weeks he has had virtually no aerial assistance but has worked incredibly hard.

Finally Lachie Fogarty's 2 misses from the top of the goal square pretty much cost us the game - the first went straight don for a Suns goal and the second halted out momentum and we went from possibly be 13 points down with 13 minutes to play to battling for another 6 minutes to score - he is a hard worker but too often he misses critical shots. I should note that he has 11.11, Motlop has 16.17, Evans has 8.5 (after 4.0 this week) and White has 9.11 we really need these small forward to be converting much better than 50/50. Durdin is the only one with a decent accuracy and has 14.8

Clearly it wasn't about age or running out to steam..whatever that was in the first and last, add it to the off season development plan.
I think that there are enough young players coming through the VFL who play the style of game we showed in the first and last who will make a difference. There are even guys in the VFL side who aren't senior listed who can make the step up to the senior squad who know the new game plan and can run and gun.

Motlop isn’t AFL standard.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should go and watch some other small forwards around the league.

Five minute patches are useless
Totally agree, Motlop is not up to AFL standard as a high half forward or midfielder, however, he maybe a good player as a genuine forward pocket playing within 40m of goal

I can’t see Voss giving 1 vote to Collins ahead of Evans.

I’m guessing Voss gave Evans 1 vote and Lord 2 votes, and Hardwick gave Collins 1 and Evans 2 votes?

Not that it matters but I thought Witts had a better game than Collins.

I got excited for a second thinking that was Ollie Dempsey in Carlton gear
Could well be wrong, but I have a good feeling about Billy. Really liked his game on Sat night, has fast hands and did some really nice things.

Just his second game at the level, he is a keeper and could be as good as Ollie Dempsey imo.

Watched the replay.
We really got a raw deal from the umpires. H should have had 2 more easy shots at goal the mark in at the end of the first was a ridiculous free against given Collins had his back the the ball making contact and then fell over and in the 3rd he was taken out of a marking contest. How Collins got 4 frees for but 0 against is a mystery.

Last quarter was really just us playing our 1 wood with TDK doing what he does best. For much of the game he played like a guy without a signed contract that doesn't want to get injured (which would cost him around $6M) Was hoping that it would show an improved game style but it was more about winning multiple moments in a row. We need to see more of the dare that lead to our first goal.

Thought Holland kicking wasn't as bad as it felt at the game . At least he was trying to create and the last shocker was when the game was over.

GC aren't that good and will get found out in finals.
