Lots of comments/assumptions without evidence ever being provided

Yet others have agendas? Seems personal to me ;)
It seems like you often code your own messages as objective, and others’ whose views differ from yours as subjective. That framing feels a bit uneven.

The other day you had a go at me without any evidence. Would I have got the same response if I was agreeing with you?

A win is always better than the alternative.
In terms of guys like Moir, Carroll, Cowan and even Young and the growth they showed in taking the next step at the level, it could even be described as a "significant" win.
Probably shows that the development team know what they’re doing. My limited vision of Moir in the VFL this year thought he was a long way off the pace but clearly he’s worked on a few areas and it showed last Saturday. Similarly with Carroll started well in his first couple of games then dropped off. Great to see him knuckle down and have his best game against the demons.

Cowan has always been solid but the move of McG out of defence I think will give him added responsibility. HOF is also showing a fair bit of promise for a first year player.

Key reason why I am confident we can turn it around and quickly

Development this year is really showing signs of improvement. Young talent is starting to step up

Fingers crossed

Even nicer to see him try to hit targets inside 50...
I thought that was an improvement for him tonight, lowering the eyes and going short rather than just banging it long to the goal square.

Because it's more conducive to discussion.

Really?

I find that there is a large group on here that purely want to discuss football and Carlton (and can have strong personal opinions and be wrong at times). Most I converse with outside of here and it's great

There there are few (you included) that "seem" to want to put others down, twist things and tell them how they should think and act

BUT that's just my opinion and read on it. I could be wrong. Enjoy 🙏

For these young guys to take such a step in believing they belong at and can be effective at this level cannot be understated.

What we saw, in this game, from these guys, is exactly what we as fans should be very happy to see.

They must believe and have no doubt at all about being out there.
Once that "concern" has been extinguished in their own minds....well, it's like a release and their confidence grows and away they go.

Captain material
I can't remember if I mentioned it on here, or to Wickzki on messenger... but I reckon we should be sending both Ollie and Cowan off to the Bradley school of being captain on the high speed run. Even if they don't get made captain, they'll definitely be in the leadership group and having Braddles as their mentor will stand them in very good stead.

While the meanless win was nice, I was much happier with the performances of Carrol, Cowan, Lord, Hoff and Moir. That's all the next 5 games are about. Hopefully Moir or Carrol get some recognition with a RS nom.

TBF we weren’t great tonight.

But, what I thought we did better tonight was get the ball in the hands of our better users, that can take the risky kick Carroll, Lord, Williams & Charlie.
I loved Charlie's wormburner that came off.

I'm sorry that's how you feel - it's definitely not my intent to put people down or tell them what to think. But I won't stop calling out poor behaviour that stymies debate or denigrates people, because I've noticed the board has become much poorer due to that this year. That's my 'agenda'.

That is the essence of chat rooms on social media, in order to engage responses or to create a presence there is pressure to inflate opinions and reactions.

Face to face engagement doesn’t necessarily create that same pressure and there can be more receptive agreement.

What I see happening more and more is that people are now taking the same approach to conversation and communication from socials to in person situations and it is creating a much more confrontational interaction.

I actually thought things had improved on here dramatically. Had some great discussions with many people here in frustrating times. Perspective and it's not my job to call out behaviour. I'm not that important

First game I have seen live this year, second win I have seen live in the last decade!!

Standouts for me were Cowan and Carroll - Cowan especially seems ready to become a high quality half back in 2026.

I am a big fan of Moir but he can be a little passive at times and it needs to be remembered 1 of his goals came from him almost getting Evans killed with a missed handball!! That said if he can bank another 4-5 games experience coming into the end of the year he gives himself a great platform for 2026.

Really felt for Evans - was putting together his best game for the year by far and now will likely miss weeks.

Kosi Pickett was a 1 man team - but at the end of the day Melbourne just managed to use the ball worse than we did!!

I should also say what a credit the players were to themselves pre-game - very generous with their time to the young supporters looking for photo's and signatures

Glad I am old enough to not care anymore

That rundown tackle and goal from Doch was huge too, great to see.
It was.

Docherty has been heavily criticised this season.

People need to stop looking at Docherty as a 31 year old, which is not old. And view him as a player coming back from an ACL.

This is not the agenda of this forum but I think unless DOcherty is struggling, he is not done yet. Yes it's obvious, he looks like a player who is first year back from an ACL, his agility is typical of that.

O'Farrell looks a player, Moir looks good - Cowan & Carroll - throw in Jagga and there is a solid base before you get to the likes of HOK or potentially Lemmey or Charleson

O'Farrell and Carroll will be something special, Cowan will be a good player. Charleson will be a really good player similar to Newman. I think Moir has it in spades and will be very good as well.

Lemmy I want to see him played, I just want to see what he can do in an AFL system when the ball is kicked to him, not everywhere but. We need to know before he goes. Has made big strides this season, mostly in the area of making sure the ball comes to ground.

It was a really great moment.
But, he is struggling.
And to me it is much more of a last grasp year than building off an ACL.

Yep. I like Wilson, Lord and Campo twins have some mongrel we need. Young and White are raw. We will bring in Dean, Ison and a couple more and Walker next year

Motlop, Ollie are still young in football terms

It's a very talented group
