Couldn't find any of the ashes threads so sorry if this has been mentioned and sorry again because i'm a little late but having looked over the results of the 4th test the other day was great to see that Qlder's reigned supreme and got the Aussies out of trouble and put them into an unbeatable position....

150 to both Roy & Haydos....bloody great to see, especially satisfying if you read all the constant whinging from the Vics about their players not getting picked.

Steady on there old boy!
If not for an incompetent geet by the name of Rudi Koertzen, both should have been cooling their heels in the pavilion well before reaching 30.
I was embarrassed at the one sided umpiring in this test dished out by our South African friend. Hayden reaching 100 was a disgrace. Credit to the Poms for restraining their displeasure for their treatment by Rudi during the forth test. He must have been in a hurry to get home 'cause he certainly shortened the test to three day.

They were calling it Queensland Day up here in the media. Great to see Symmo dig in, play controlled cricket and get us out of the hole we were in.

That still doesn't stop people bagging both of them big time though.

Fair enough, obviously didn't watch it myself but no need to be embarrased & i'm still happy to say it's a good effort.

I have hardly ever heard criticism of Matt. What is there to be critical of?

As to Andrew Symmonds, one innings a test cricketer does not make. The field placings by the England captain bordered on farcical. If ever a player was gifted the chance to play himself in this was it. Andrew is noted for his inability to knuckle down and that is what the criticism has been about and I support that. As to his superb innings why would the England captain not set the field to save the ones and force him to hit over the top? This has been a tried a tested means of frustrating him in domestic cricket. He has a first class average if 42. Not to be sneezed at by any means but I suspect well below what he should have in regards to a player of his ability. Still this superb innings has opened the door for him so lets hope he does step up as he is an excitment machine when going.
