Heading Off to See The Tiges Today....

Ok....we all know we're up against it today V the Hawks.
We know it will be hard against the Hawks.
We lose.....we win.....whatever. That alone won't tell the story.

What signs do we look for that say we are better than the last 2 weeks?
Do we look for individual players to play better? (And if so, why have they done it more regularly, instead of this late in the season?)

What do we look for that says we have progressed in any area this year?
We can't keep hoping.....something must stand out today that says we are getting better, we are improving.

Someone give me one, or a couple of key areas to look out for during the game, so I can see something more than the blind positivity people keep pushing down my neck.

And please don't give me snippets to look out for AFTER the game, made up from your opinion mixed with blind love for the club and half a dozen large buckets of beer from the game. It's too easy to be learned, after the fact.

I need to see some ablility to hit targets just to know that the inclement conditions of last week was an excuse.

I really worry about that aspect as its not lack of heart or motivation but something that I have never really seen corrected in a player at Richmond.

Rather we have had to fix it up via recruiting someone such as a Broderick or Leon Cameron type.

If a player isnt an in and under player and cannot hit targets, is it unlikely that he will ever be anything and are we just holding players who will not be part of our future? I need the players to allay these fears.

Buddy and Roughhead will kick a bag between them and I have no idea who will do it for us. Id love to see Reiwoldt show that he has a bright future however those tough Hawks will not make it an easy game. With Brown out and Richo carrying an injury it might be hard our boys to score.

If Kane Johnstone was to announce his last game before the match id run out to to help form a gaurd of honor just to encourage it. I need to know that we are not persisiting with him next year.

Well Deliberate, I would take a good look at the game plan. See what we do to counter the 'rolling zone'. See whether Wallace has a plan B and C.

We seem to switch play from the backline and run it uncontested up the opposite wing (and then have a crowded forward line).

Instead of watching the game with your heart in your mouth for ever single minute, try to work out what the game plan is. Not accusing you of that by the way, but if you have tunnel vision at the ball carrier you can't really tell what's going on tactically.

That's what i'd be trying to do if I was at the game.

I do think Franklin is in the same mould as Richo....big bugger.....big engine....super athletic....suspect kicking, etc.

I just wonder if Buddy will have Richo's longevity?
I wonder if Buddy can cope with the injuries Richo's had and still play forever.

And there was a time today when Buddy pulled out of picking the ball up when surrounded late in the game. (footsteps?)
Something Richo would never do because he's either (a) too stupid or (b) too honest. lol

But peejay, I've always said to people that while Richo's is a spaz at times.......he's our spaz! He's like your crazy Uncle at the Xmas Party....while he embarrasses the shit out of you sometimes....he's still one of us!

And I hope (fingers crossed) in the coming years that the Hawks direct all their forward flow THROUGH Buddy. And we all know what happens when you rely on that !
