Pettifer is the most passionate player our on our excluding the great one.

No chance he would want to leave the Tigers, plus he's worth way more than an 11 slot upgrade in a weak draft.

Was #1 for goal assists in the AFL for a portion of 2007, kicked like 37 goals in the bottom side, can kick accurately from long distance and has pride in the jumper (can't say that about many).

The P-Train will not come to St Kilda just cos the G-Train retired :thumbsu:

You might get an early 3rd round pick or a second round pick upgrade. Too old for the Blues list, but I'm sure the Saints, and Swans would be interested. :)

Parrot, stop stalking the tigers board. Go blow your wad on the carlscum board. No one cares what you think. You still have ryan houlihan remember?????? lmfaoooooo

surely he would not go cheaply. would have to be one of the best half forwards going around atm.
35 goals in a side that won three games is a fair effort .... and represents great trade value ..

As good as Petts can be at times , he can be equally ordinary .

I for one would not lose any sleep if he wanted out . I would look forward to seeing what we could get for him . If the rumours around Kosi are true i would say straight swap ... Our No. 1 pick in the PSD pushes them into doing business :thumbsu:

Petts was a first round pick that has been fully developed and is at his peak. What would be the logic of trading him for another first round pick to get player that is unproven, will take time to develop and may be a disappointment.

If Pettifer is to be traded it would have to be done in order to get a proven player that suits our needs eg Kosi or Jolly. (I know they are probably worth more than Petts but with the 1st pick in the PSD we have a bit of leverage to make it happen). I hope we keep him anyway.

Half-forward is the key. What prices have they commanded in the past trade periods? The more highly rated Nick Davis was pick 21, Aker 34, that is probably the high watermark.

Pettifer is undervalued by the tiger hordes, there. aren't too many that play this great game that can influence the course of a game. He's blessed with that ability albeit there are some lows in between. It would wanna be some offer for me to be happy about that...involving Kosi would be around the mark, sliding draft pix...NO:mad:

Kosi for Pettifer would be a fair swap but I would want a 3rd round draft pick as wel if it was Jolly!

Hard to use that as a comparison as Davis has always been a bit of a lose cannon and Aker is a heap older than Pettifer so value for money Petts is a safer bet than either of those guys.
And before people rape and pillage me for saying that, I concede that at their best both Davis and Aker are more talented players but at the time both were traded their value had to be questioned.
At the moment Petts is playing his best football at an age that means he has years ahead of him.

And both those situations were where the player had specified the club they wanted to be traded to which would have lowered the trade price a little.

Pettifer is improving with every game, his ability to kick so many goals in a side where we won 3 games for the season is outstanding for a small fwd. Our fwd line isn't the tallest or strongest but we have good options who we can rely on ie: browny, lids and pettifer. they lead well crumb off richo polak and pettifer would have to be one of the best medium height leads up fwd going around. Stkilda apparently are very interested and to trade him for their 1st round pick would be a mistake, he is worth alot more than that and i for one would hate to see him go. i think he is good for exp and a silent leader. we have let go of some boys who have blossomed else where.. torny, rodan, fiora and i would hate pettifer to be running round in a stkilda gurnsey and improve even greater else where. I say keep him he is worth heaps.

Pettifer >>>>>>>>>> Nick Daffy
Stafford >>>>>>>>>>> Jolly

So no thanks...

Hearing him speak on the rare occassion he gets interviewed, he is not the sharpest tool in the shed but its very obvious to me that he is a pretty bloody passionate Tiger. I love blokes who really want to play for the Club and rate it highly as an attribute so my sentimental side wants him to stay. In this day and age it counts for little though and the club will do what the club will do but I hate the idea of flicking a true Tiger when there are others around apparently who arent anywhere near as commited to the Tiges.

Sydney and Davis held Collingwood over a barrell in that trade and Brisbane were happy to get anything to offload Aker. If he was 26 his value would have been considerably higher as well. Neither are really good indicators.

No-one at the Tigers is gonna want to trade guys like Deledio, and no-one at the other clubs is gonna want Tivendale. That leaves a handful of guys that are legitimately on the bargaining table.

People have got to stop being so emotional about it. We can cover a half forward, FFS I would suggest that Pat Bowden would have kicked 25 goals this year had he played instead of Pettifer. So there is a net loss of maybe 10 goals a year.

The upshot is we can replace a HFF if we have to because we have so many. Another club might have an excess of ruckmen or onballers but need someone just like Pettifer.

So if they come knocking we can address one of our weaknesses by trading and we won't have a huge net loss. Look at the bigger picture instead of getting emotional about it. HFF's are a dime a dozen unless they are exceptional (like N Brown). And Pettifer isn't in that class.
