Ha! :D

Little backstabbing gobshite got what he deserved :thumbsu:

Was only really a matter of time. Bout time they stopped letting him call all the shots. What are the Dragons getting to their games, crowd wise?

One of his assistants, Opals icon Michele Timms, had quit amid some controversy, imports Groves and Hendrix both struggling with their roles.

Anyone know what happened or any rumours etc? I didnt even know she left.

Mark Cowan you flog ...

Get rid of the Dragons and bring back the North Melbourne Giants, a club based on tradition, honest and working class values ...

I'm glad I didn't re-sign this year as a member, after all the crap they did in the off-season and sacking Kavossy Franklin and Rosell Ellis etc ...

The club will go under in 2 or 3 years just like the failed Vic Titans/Giants etc.

We need the old North Melbourne (yes with that name) Giants back, dragons are just a soulless business these days ...

its a shame.

i wonder what Heal will do now, would be such a waste if he didnt play next year, hes still got it no matter what.

maybe if he was playing only, he would ripp it right up.

Hammer was the only person that organisation that actually had something called 'Ticker' ....

What a rabble the Dragons... Fold them and bring back the NM Giants :thumbsu:
Magic>>>>>>Giants

Anyways this is a step forward imo, Cowan will also step down from his role too and look for someone with more basketball experience. I really hope we apoint Stacker as coach, the kingshead honcho would be my first choice as not only is he proven gun coach but he would attract quality players to the club something Heal failed to do despite promissing as much.

I feel with a fresh start and new playing roster we can really make an impact on this league. Keep Ingles, Burston, Holmes, Hobba and maybe Groves. Get rid of the rest of the flogs.

Shane Heal has STILL got it, no matter what any1 says

No matter what any1 says, i think Shane Heal has still got a few years of basketball left in him.

Its a shame hes gone from Sth Melb. he was the ONLY person there with a thing called a "ticker", or "heart".

All those NBL seasons under his belt, Boomers, NBA games, International and Euro games etc etc, must mean something on a Basketball court where NONE of the others have even come close to what you've done.

I can see this when he grabs the ball or steps onto the basketball court.

"HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT ME TO SIGN FOR MR.COWAN?"

Re: Shane Heal has STILL got it, no matter what any1 says

Are we a genuine chance to get Goorj?

Re: Shane Heal has STILL got it, no matter what any1 says

No chance whatsoever ...

who would want to work for a snake like Mark Cowan anyway ???

I give the Dragons 2/3 years tops before they fold again now ...
It's a pity but god Hammer gave his heart and soul to that club, and this is how they repay him ...

Yes I am bitter.

I understand your bitterness, BUT, how can you keep a coach who is on a 13 game losing streak, seems to have little idea of a rotation (Shannahan gets continous minutes?) and even was at the centrepoint of breaking the club apart in the first year. The biggest mistake Cowan made was getting Heal IMO, yes he was the captain/coach everything to your club, but look what he did off the court, as well as on it.

I honestly think its the best decision the club has made (apart from hiring Price) Fresh faces, new ideas, and it leaves behind any anamosity internally that Heal had at him, because lets face it he's a pretty big ego.
