Had a game vs a mate, he's a noob but we helped him get the grip of the controls with 2 practice matches. Anyway this game he went Carlton I went Port and I kicked out to an 8 goal lead which got bigger with each quarter.
Going into the last quarter I lose a few players to injury and the lead has gone from 12 to 4 goals and Carlton are coming home strong. My mate gets right back in it and hits the lead, about 2 mins left on the clock. I get the tap and goal quickly to be 5 points up.
Last bounce of the game i give a free kick to Kreuzer and then I got pinged 50m penalty to gift my mate a 1 point win :( but it was an enthralling game my mate went on to play another game against another friend who is good at the game and the experienced mate got trounced.

Played one guy who was using Richmond, beat him convincingly.

Searched for another game and got Richmond again as an opponent, thinking it was the same guy I decided to use my GWS side and keep it a bit of a contest.

I was wrong...got smashed by about 8 goals.

WARNING...long post ahead :D

Just playing through season mode right now.

Came up to Round 9, up against St Kilda. Had come off three in a row against West Coast away, Adelaide and North at Etihad to break the long winless run there, so I was naturally confident I could come away with a win, with St Kilda being one place below the Dees on the ladder - it was sixth versus seventh.

In the first quarter, it was what I expected and more. With Jack Watts injured, Lucas Cook decided to have a field day at centre half forward on Sam Fisher, having 7 disposals in the first quarter, presenting up around 50-70 metres out to get it inside 50. Despite the first quarter dominance (I had 50% of the ball, compared to St Kilda's 22%) I only led by 19 points at quarter time, although I did hold the Saints goalless. Colin Sylvia at least gave me a bit of breathing space late in the quarter with a clever gather and snap 15 metres out for our third goal. I was smiling to myself after that. My players had actually decided to start tackling and were much better at marking.

Quarter Time - St Kilda 0.2.2 Melbourne 3.3.21

The second quarter continued the way the first finished, with the Dees continually winning the clearances and getting it inside 50 (well, to Cook). Cook gained some scoreboard stats with three big 50 metre goals, and one touched on the line, to really get the margin out to something comfortable. He was the highlight, with 11 disposals and 3 goals at half time. He single handedly bombed 3 goals for Melbourne, but the Saints managed two to keep them in touch.

Half Time - St Kilda 2.4.16 Melbourne 6.4.40

In the third quarter, I got complacent. I pictured Mark Jamar tapping it down to Jordie Gysberts, who'd pass it to Cook, who'd kick it himself or hit up Ricky Petterd, Liam Jurrah or Brad Green on the lead. Unfortunately, that didn't happen the way I liked. I was able to control the ball at times, being able to chip it around 60 metres out between Jamar, Sylvia and Jack Trengove, but when the Saints got the footy, something happened. Leigh Montagna could not be outmarked, and every time he got the footy it went inside 50 to Justin Koschitzke (who was starting to piss me off) or it went straight onto the chest of someone 60 metres out who then passed it inside 50. Three quarter time couldn't come soon enough, I was getting worried.

Three Quarter Time - St Kilda 6.6.42 Melbourne 7.6.48

On came the underrated Jeremy Howe - he can mark, but obviously Big Ant forgot to put that in the game - who took the green vest on and gave the red vest to Jurrah, who had kicked two to that point, but would have been visibly pissed off as he was when it happened earlier in the (real life) season against the Suns. Straight from the bounce, the Saints won the clearance and bombed it to Nick Riewoldt. At least Big Ant had got something right with AFL Live - he'd done shit all before the goal he kicked to level the scores. Another clearance led to another goal to Jason Gram to put the Saints in front for the first time since an early behind.

Jared Rivers had the ball, taking the kick-in. I was thinking to myself, 'kick it to Jamar, kick it to Jamar.' It always works. But despite being able to tell who's who from 50 metres away, I couldn't see Jamar. I said to myself, 'Shit, he's on the bench. The one time he's on the ****ing bench is when I don't want him to be on the bench.' Nevertheless, I played on with Rivers and bombed it. Unfortunately, he's no Luke Tapscott, and the ball went about 40 metres and the Saints got another behind.

Now Tapscott took the kick-in. Unfortunately, he's no Tapscott either, but the play on and thump it tactic worked, as Stefan Martin - again, not good in the game, but good in real life - took a good mark. But Montagna found the footy again, and the Saints got it inside 50 and Koschitzke took another mark. He was really frustrating me now.

At this point I was still expecting a win, despite them being 14 points up. With 7 and a half minutes on the clock, I strategised. Thump it forward with Jamar, just keep bombing it long and gaining ground. It worked. Jamar thumped it forward, and the tacklefest led Scully to the ball, who bombed it inside 50. Howe, who was playing full-forward, Jurrah's old role, got on the end of it and snapped at goal. I imagined the ball sneaking through for a goal, but to my disappointment, he'd actually sprayed it, out on the full, from 15 metres out.

The kick-in, thankfully, went long, straight to the man whose number I donned on my jumper after Round 2 last year, Ricky Bobby Petterd. From 55 metres out, with 4 and a half minutes on the clock, he kicked the shit out of it, and it somehow split the middle for his third goal. I pulled a bigger fist pump than Ricky did.

The bounce came. I glared at the footy, attempting to tap it at its highest point, as you're supposed to. It worked, as it didn't when I most wanted to besides this one occasion, and again, the ball was contested. A rushed kick went inside 50, and with it came constant tackles and ball ups. Clearance king Gysberts did all he could, but the Saints got it and bombed it out. Good thing Big Ant got something right - they're no good kicks and it went out on the full.

Trengove had it, 70 out, close to where Petterd kicked his last. I thought rather than bombing it forward I'll be incredibly awesome and tactically pass it off to a lead. Sylvia races to the 50 metre line, I notice and pull off a great pass that hits him on the chest. With 80 seconds on the clock, I thought to myself, 'Come on, let's just kick this and get to the next bounce' because I was still 8 points down at this stage. Instead, they show an action replay of Sylvia sliding on his knees and taking an easy mark. This pissed me off, I just wanted to kick the goal. Anyway, Sylvia banged it through from closer and a better angle than Petterd's last, and the ball went to the centre. I stood up and pulled another fist pump as the Dees looked like they could pull this off.

Anyway, the rest is all bullshit.

Jason Blake won the hitout and the Saints got it out. Rivers managed yet another spoil and the ball went into another tacklefest. With 40 seconds left and the ball on their 50 all my focus was on thumping the ball forward. Alas, that was not to be. Instead, the game decided to be incredibly mean and the Tip Rat, Stephen Milne, took a mark 25 metres out despite Colin Garland's attempts to spoil.

The siren went, and he kicked the goal.

Shit, that took a while to type.

7 wins in a row, using my GWS custom team. Very pumped, versing a guy using St Kilda.

He starts of with the first to goals in 4 minutes (game time). I manged to hold him down to that for the rest of the quarter.

GWS- 0.0-0
StK- 2.2-14

Second quarter I start well kicking a goal, but as soon as it was halfway through the 2nd quarter the floodgates opened. He kicked 5.3.

GWS- 1.1-7
StK-7.5-47

Loosing by 40, I tested things with N.Riewoldt at FB and I.Smith at rover. It was a pretty even quarter with 2 goals each.

GWS- 3.3-21
StK- 9.6-60

The last quarter and I begin awesome. Petrie kicks the first 2 of the quarter followed by a I.Smith long goal form 60. Podsiadly then kicks his first and Dalhhaus adds another. 6 mins left on the clock. Heppell out marks Milne at FB then plays on.

Long kick down the wing that finds J.Steven. He plays on and sees Vickery along at 50m out from goal. He chips short. Vickery goes back and just sneaks it through!

Ball goes up, 3 mins to go, after a tight tussell they get the clearance Reiwoldt marks for me at FB. I hold it up until 45 seconds I bomb long where Dal Santo takes a specky for the Saints! 28 seconds left and he kicks long, and Heppell spoils, Milne pics up with 6 seconds left and goals! Ball goes up siren goes. gutted

Final Score-

GWS- 9.7-61
StK- 10.6-66

Great game. played my best in the second half and probably would have got him if it wasnt for a poor decision to bomb up the guts. Should have gone the wing

Playing against my bro and was up 196-192 and the ball is in his forward in a ball up. Ump bounces Menzel roves gets tackled but manages to get a kick off, point! Siren goes! I'm overjoyed! I think I've won 196-193! Wait no! Ump calls push in the back and Menzel kicks a goal after the siren to win 198-196! :(

Should call this Remote Breaking Losses. :p

Played a game just before against someone using a custom team "cors cats" or something. Very cheap player.

I was winning pretty much all game and went into the 3rd quarter with about a 3 goal lead, he'd robbed me of a couple of goals with a shot block, and a bump on the line after I marked the ball (way more frustrating) then ended up beating me by about 5 points. Needless to say I raged at the last second because I was pretty pissed off with that bump on the line (and a few other incidents after 3 quarter time). He had a giant black full back with tattoos which made me laugh.

The match also included the most epic lulz goal I've ever seen when my full forward and his full back were running for the ball when I bumped him, resulting in his goliath of a full back falling over and me waltzing into goal. hehe.

EDIT: @thecatattack. If you and your brother ever want to play 2v2 me and my brother play alot on Ps3. My PSN is Quexacoatl if you would like to play us :D

Just lost a game by 4 ****ing points.

I took the lead with about 2 mins of game clock left, he punched it into his 50, i cleared it and got a free for in the back at the same time resulting in a rubbish kick. I was thinking ok kool now i can just settle it and run out the game. OF COURSE NOT. Advantage was called. Right. Advantage to whom i might ask? Oh of course, not the team who actually received the free kick! Went straight to him + goal. Utter rubbish, this has happened to me a few times resulting in goals against me and its very frustrating.

Missed a snap after playing all day with my mate, got to 6 or so win streak, playing as eagles, Lecras got the ball with about 5 seconds left, slammed it on the boot 15 meters out. Needed a goal, but missed a shot he normally gets 90% of the time, we were gutted.
