Malthouse has steered us to 4 consecutive finals series today (which hasn't been achieved at the club for a long long time) and we are obviously odds on to continue that streak into the foreseeable future.

So thats it? Finals is everything, but flags is secondary to that? 4 consecutive finals should be a stepping stone to a flag, not the sole aim of the club. In those 4 years we have not progressed, in fact you could say the margin between us and the very top teams has grown.

He has taken us to two grand finals and within 30 seconds of another.

Do you think you could do better, Grumpy Bum?
I am not paid 800+ every year to do better, I pay my membership fees to ensure the appointed coach continually improves and the administration oversee continual improvement. Malthouse is making a lot of money and not justifying that with the only outcome that is acceptable in AFL in 10 years at one club, that being flags.

are you to say that Mick's game plan is not successful?
Patently obvious his game plan doesnt work against the very best, otherwise we would have won a flag

It is pointless entering into any discussion about our coaching now. It is set in stone what is going to happen whether we win, lose, or draw. Move on.

It can still be discussed, given the end of year review we were promised and suddenly abandoned when Eddie panicked mid season

But Quicky, the things you say Malthouse has to address won’t be addressed. The fact that he won’t address them won’t be addressed. That is the whole issue. We can argue forever about our forward line but it is better than Geelong’s and they are playing in the 3rd GF having already won one and having an enviable H&A record over that time.

Does anyone else think that we should look at getting that consultancy mob "elite teams" or whatever they are called into the Lexus Centre??
I presume you mean Leading Teams. It is worthy considering however up to now it would be counter productive. What they espouse is self leadership for the players. In the past we have been structured differently. Buckley even ended up in a spat with the club over what hadn’t previously been done in spite of his calls prior to the Shaw/Didak fiasco. We have a more old fashioned Board-Coach-Player decision making structure. You can’t then send the players on a course that tells them instil codes of conduct and to make leadership decisions without giving them the power that requires. Under this sort of scenario Tarrant would have been pulled into line or traded years previously and probably few others as well.

We are a very conservative club when all is said and done and the wheels turn very slowly.
