He missed the last few games of 2003 through injury, and since we belted the **** out of everyone played, including your lot, we were comfortable about playing the gun kids.

Crap...where would he get a game? Maybe on the bench but he wouldnt get a start in our 18.

There are 5 midfield spots at the start of the game, the ruck rovers would be Kerr and Cousins with Embley, Fletcher and Judd across the middle. So at best he would get a gig on the bench, but he would be battling Braun for that spot who has been fantastic for us in the second half of last year.

If anywhere he would have to move back to defence but up forward we would have Jones, Chick or Sampi on the flanks and down back Green and Hunter....just not sure where he would play. Maybe he would get on the bench but that is no guarantee.

All in all he is not needed, and certainly not for Cox.

It's a winner.

The injection of pace and class that Black brings would certainly complement a team who will be pushing for at least one premiership in the next two-three years.

I would love Black to stay. But he won't - he was seen mingling around with everyone at the B&F, even got up on stage, but it was a sort of farewell. I think Black knows he won't be around next year.

His missus has gone back to Perth, and he desperately wants to stay with her, so it's almost assured he'll be trooping back across to WA.

A huge dissapointment for St Kilda, but we did get homecoming Fraser Gehrig and he's been absolutely magnificent, so I suppose what comes around, goes around.

The way footy is played these days its more like 8 midfielders not 5. The flankers mostly play through the midfield. Black, is a good quality player and WOULD be in the starting 18 at the WCE. I do rate WCE especially in the midfield but to suggets that Black woudn't get a game is a bit stupid. Look, when we played you guys over here we smashed you in the midfield. When we played you in perth you smashed us in the midfield. As a St.Kilda supporter I think our midfield is up with the best in the comp. Personally Cousins, Kerr, Flecther, Embley, Judd and Braun is a great midfield but Harvey, Hayes, Powell, Ball, Riewoldt, Baker, Thompson, Jones, Dal Santo and Black, I think is better and I'm sure you guys see it the other way around. My point is Heath Black is in our best 18. He is one of the best midfield players we have and would get a game for WCE. I agree he is not worth Cox in a straight swap, ruckman carry far more value, but IF Heath Black wanted to go back to WA the Eagles would be stupid not to look at him.

It works out pretty good for all. Don't you guys knock Koops either - he's a great player (when he's not injured) and with the Eagles backline the way it is, you sure need someone who can run!
