his a defender so his suposed to make sure his opponent doesnt touch the ball. but his oppnents of late havnt been playing anywere near the ball.
defencive forwards have been taking his run outta Collingwoods game.

im not sure if he should take on the best opposition fwd because he isnt the tallest defender in the world so he may struggle against the franklins, the reiwoldts but he can play on the dangerouse small fwd like Brad Johnsone.

personaly i dont think he can play in the midfield all that well yet i think he would need a pre-season behind him to work up the fitness.

Well Heath Shaws role today was that he had a tag put on him, and his tag (monfries) killed him . Shaw was second to th ball, fumbled when he could get it. The guy is way out of form and his next role should be at MC labour park trying to get his confidence back and maybe learn a little about been tagged and how you should try and break your tag. This guy has gone from AA form early on, to probably being on the verge of playing VFL footy. He is not working hard enough, and is getting frustrated with his form, so get him out of the AFL enviroment and let him get some run in the two's.

Not in the two's. Come on. Other than the two shockers his had in a row he has been pretty good all year.

Agree that his probably not fit enough to play a full game in the mid field at this stage.

I am a huge wrap for Shawry, but l just feel he has lost his way a bit. He dosen't seem to be able to get any confidence or from back, and he wont get that palying at the highest level, where week after week his confidence is going to take a pounding. This can make or break a player for his career. get him out of the AFL enviroment and let him have a run in the two's, because at the moment it's to frustrating watching him get crucified each week. To be beaten like that by a average footballer (Monfries) l would say Shawry confidence has all but dried up. He hasn't had just a couple of bad games, his last 4 - 5 weeks has been below average, and getting worse.

I have watched him all this year and he has now become a liability for you guys. He is so frustrated at the moment, gives way silly free kicks and he appears to have lost all confidence in his disposal.
He doesnt stay close enough to his man, he lacks any sort of leg speed, is easily beaten on leads like he was today and teams are willing to use his opponent because they know he wants to attack. He just needs to defend i think. Forget attack for a few weeks.

I suggest he makes sure he gets his girlfriend throws her on the bed and give her a real good hard fk and gets his frustration out.:thumbsu:

Right at this point in time he doesnt deserve to be playing seniors on his performances. But his past is making sure he is getting a game. If you guys are to turn your season around i think mm needs to send a message to the group and drop guys like shaw who are staying in the team on past performances. You guys should be a top 4 team, not a team who loses games to teams like essendon by 8 goals.

We are all a huge wrap for Heath. Wasn't he nearly best on ground against the bulldogs?
I agree it's frustrating watching him get beaten by Mofries. According to my Essendon mate Monfries is slightly better than average. We don't watch Essendon enough to make that call. Jobe Watson 41 pos? His a good footballer not a great one yet he took our midfield to task. When was the last time one of our midfielders got 40+ pos?

Just stick him in the regular midfield rotation. The stalling of Heaters career and making him one dimensional is entirely Malthouse's fault.
... Heath has control of himself,
Not all footballers rely on their coach to tell them everything to do.
I'm sure mick and heath would have had conversations about this issue but i think there needs to be more action of adding more sides to his game rather then just trying to keep pushing him though this one.
Why not just start him on a wing, rotate him around a lot and just try and separate him from his opponent. I think during the next pre season he needs to work hard at being able to shake a tag.

He keeps being tagged, rather than sit in the same position and struggle, why take off move forward or tag someone else... Move the boy FFS, just let sit and get dumped on!

Who cares, he is better than anyone in your whole craptastic team!

Your probaley right, we suck. But at least were not pretenders.:D We just genuinuely suck.

Collingwood have the talent back lack the heart, i think we have the heart but not the talent. I know which id prefer.

And shaw being a mid-feilder i mean please!!! Never could that happen he's to slow, dont think ive ever seen him get out of a trot with that uncoordinated "carrot up his arse" running style.
He's a good footballer but he's hoplessly out of form, its pretty simple he needs to be dropped. Cant play people no matter who they are if they are playing as bad as shaw is at present.

We have to look at why Heath gets tagged every week, Because no other player has been damaging enough week in week out to demand a tag except Shaw.
In reality its up to the othe guys in the midfeild to really step up and demand that one or two are sat on each week rather than just poor Heath.
The guy is a victim of the rest of the teams inconsistency and individuals who should demand a tag each week are not doing enough.

If we have more run from other players on the half back line. Teams would not be concentrating on Heath alone. Good players find a way to get out of a bad trot. I'm sure he has the skills and mental toughness to stand up.

I think Swan gets tagged along with Didak and Pendles.
Its just Heath cannot break a tag at all, even Monfries beat him.

I think the best thing to happen is change and if your not going to play him in a different position you need to drop him. The way hes playing isn't helping anyone because not only can't he control his player, hes not even getting the ball.

I'm thinking otb may not be an option until after another pre-season. could try him as a forward but I think that was tried against Essendon without much success but possibly could be persevered with I guess. but if he can't deal with a tag why would he be able to thrive against a good defender?
Otherwise, atm at least he uses up a good opposition player and one of their forward options - eg Gibbs. Harry seems to be really starting to star and provide some of that run heater used to do. Maybe a Rhyce or JOhnno off hb could add more and overwhelm the forward tagging ability fo most opposition - it doesn't matter so much if heater himself is getting lots of rebound as long as he is using up one of the taggers and Harry, Rhyce, Johnno etc are providing the creative rebound. Atm I think Johnno looks better off hb than in the middle anyway. So he'd be getting valuable experience and hopefuly doing his bit, and beign thrown around occasionally liek vs essendon to add to his devt. May not be a good idea to drop him right now unless there are v good alternatives to try - like if Barham Iles Cook Cox could do better. Eg maybe cox migh be worht a try with his extra height and isn't he quite fast?
