While the end of your career may not have gone as you would have liked, I hope you have a happy life after footy and stick around the club.

Well done Chris, you were a valuable member of one of the best teams in AFL history:thumbsu: . It's a shame salary cap pressure saw you leave, but I was happy to see you return and finish where you were most appreciated.

At your best you were one of the more classy, graceful and clever footballers I have seen. Good luck in the future. ;)

Sheedy has said many times, and before 2000, that some players only have one flag in them. As backhanders go, that is not so bad really . . . There are may great players who never one even one!

Cant disagree with you though.

Kickett and A. Daniher spring to mind.

Well done Chris on a great career.

Was unlucky to be squeezed out of the Essendon side after 2001, a move which we can only assume reduced his career some what.

He leaves the game with a Premiership medal is his possession, something many, many players can only dream of!

47 games at Melbourne, but his heart remained at Essendon.

Thanks Chris.....hopefully you stick around the club!

He has been one of my personal favourite opposition players since early 2000 onwards. He's always been a no fuss player, without being overly lauded in the media, particularly for his major contribution in the 2000 premiership side.

All the best Heff, and congrats on a great career. All the best for the future. :thumbsu: :)

one of the lucky few to win a flag, and yet only played 170 games. big names like granty played 300+ without a granny final even.
shame our salary cap problems forced us to let u go

Heff is over in NY now. Played against the NY magpies on the weekend, Heff wasnt out there but word was he will be lining up for them later in the season. So wrong considering he is 29, sure hope I dont line up anywhere near the bloke :p

(nah I will ____ him up!)

I did hear a rumor earlier in the season that an ex-afl star said he would come over and play if someone could get him a visa. I am assuming this may have been true now.

Anyway just thought you guys might want to know.

True. I believe he will be over there pursuing his career in finance. He could be just the man for all our new stars to approach to invest their big salaries for them.

I didnt think I could hate the pies any more until I played NY (although they have one of the coolest jerseys i have ever seen).

Good luck to the Heff though, hope he goes well. Bloke could probably play CHF in this league and dominate, will be interesting to see him up close.
