Helbig-future tagger

I reckon he's the best player on our list to become our next tagger. Has the skills and the smarts and likes the tough stuff

He played well last night.

The traditional negative tagger is almost finished. You have to beable to hurt the opposition as well.

I agree. He has got the smarts and the toughness but also the skills to hurt the opposition when he gets it. Get him fit over the summer and set him loose !!!

We need him to do some serious sprint training. At the moment he aint quick enough but given time he could do it. Matt White wasn't as quick as he is now so its definitely possible.

Not a tagger. He's an inside mid with elite skills and the ability to kick a goal. Using him as a tagger would be a waste.

I agree nut. Teh tradional tagger is almost extinct, and I don't we should be drafting kids to be taggers anyway.
This is why getting games into kids is so important. Helbig has been ordinary in past couple of outings, but the more you persist, the more you succeed in the long run.

liking him, glad we are getting games into him early, but think it is that -early, and umm, before you all start giving him Brownlow votes -woeful nuftie 35m lob kickout straight in front - Essendon goal?
was his contribution to the 0-10 shellaccing we had to watch at the end

Seems to be getting played every were his tough and has good skills, Good start to his career.

He looks good. Would've been nice if he hit Newman on the chest in the last minute of the 3rd Qtr the other night, as Nathan Brown and Shane Crawford pointed out it was the major turning point and would've saved Newman and Houli from trying to bail us out of a mess!!!!

yep that was I think 2nd of his backline blunders. in retrospect kicking the ball over his head i9nto the crowd wouldve been a better result, but Newy and Houli were equally lamentable in that play of the day

Martin cost us directly 3 goals with turnovers in the backhalf kicked straight to the opponent, I think I'll give the kid who hasn't even played 10 games yet playing his second game in the backline a bit of slack.
