was the bes of the 3 i reckon. the other 2 got more of it but looked much less settled, losing their feet, dropping kicks short, dropping marks, not sure what to do with it. helbig went in hard and got the ball a few times, he also didnt panic when he had it and generally looked the most settled when he had it i reckon.

Really?? Conca and Batchelor were both great. Happy with Helbig, has much upside. But not quite up to the other two guys yet.

Was happy with all three tonight. Actually noticed Helbig less than the other two.

Yeah same here. From what I saw, he looked quieter than the other two.

I liked Batchelor's work in particular.

BH worked into the game nicely, a few nervous fumbles early but finished strongly and by heck he throws himself in...conca showed why he was an earl;y pick, reads the play very well, moves well, his finishing was only ok...but sheesh was game ONE...Batch looked like an old hand on a couple of occasions...look forward to what he's going to contribute to RFC...three good pix:thumbsu:

Thought he did ok for a first gamer. Looked like we've found a couple of rippers in Conca and Batchelor, especially Conca. Taking players on in the backline like Conca did a few times is pretty ballsy for a first gamer.

I've been saying it for a while now, this kid will probably turn out to be the best of our 2010 draft picks, skilled on both left and right hits the packs hard and knows how to kick a goal.

As he showed tonight (although he was quiet for a while) he doesn't mind the hard stuff has composure and best of all is a very good kick of the ball.

In saying that though the best for mine on the night was Conca, gee this kid just does not panic at all, clean when the pills on the floor, composure in the packs and has excellent skills.

Conca, Batchelor and Helbig look to be great additions to the team, big thumbs up to FJ so far.

all three were great and showed a bit, they arent ready fitness wise but that will come. batch was great conca had his moments and was more good than bad, helbig was great, cant wait to see him put on some weight! :thumbsu:

There were big ? Marks on our recruiting last year. It's starting to show that the efforts FJ and co are making and not going the percieved best route is what will set us apart in a few years.

Very hard to question their recruiting since 2006. Great job.

batchelor dropped quite a few marks down back that he shouldve taken and i think both he and conca put a few kicks at the toes of teammates. they also looked a bit unsure at times, although that could be a consequence of the positions they played. i just think helbig looked more comfortable putting his body in, taking contact, and a bit surer with his handling.

Oh come off it, they are all playing their first game in their first season of AFL. You can expect a few nerves and little mistakes as they adjust to the pace of the game. I thought the composure that all 3 showed for most of their games was well ahead of where I thought they would be.

Agree. Thought the three boys did a great job.
Rance and Edwards, who have been in the system for a lot longer, I dont think went so well.
I thought all three lads showed quite a lot.:thumbsu:

oh im not saying they were poor i am very encouraged by they way they all played, very promising. im just saying i think helbig seemed the most comfortable and composed of the 3, as if he had fewer nerves than the other 2.

Not early he wasn't, his first half he was very ineffective. He just got better as the game went on.

Try and get some perspective, the ball went into our backline 70 odd times or something!

That amount of ball coming in and you would expect the first gamers to look nervous or make a couple of mistakes.

Massive difference playing on the HFF as opposed to playing in the backline.

Batchelor for mine had the best highlights, there was one portion in the second quarter, I think it was, where he just absolutely tore it up.

Conca was the best overall - how good was his movement out of traffic that time he was in the center square? Bamboozled at least three Blues players in close traffic on his way past them. A cool head and a smooth mover.

Helbig finished the game the best, came into it late after being pretty much a no show early on - may have lost a bit of confidence after his very early fumbles in the first quarter. Reminds me of a miniature Martin - some of his kicks were a bit indiscriminate late though, but I think that's because he was absolutely buggered. He was bright purple when he came off in the last quarter.

I liked hellbig... noticed him heaps because of the number 32 on his back. thought he was cuz. Hopefully he can be as good in years to come. Overall good effort by the new kids. :thumbsu:
