Well at last I feel confident enough to predict a big win. I think we will paste the Dees this weekend.

I mean no offense to the Melbourne supporters on this site-along with the Brisse fans they seem to be the most easy-going and affable lot. Its just we match up very well on Melbourne, as we showed last year.

They have a great ruckman, and a skilled midfield, but they lack explosive scoring power (post Farmer) and are a bit short down back.

That plays right up to our strengths. We have an adequate if patched-together ruck group, our on-ballers are strong and competitive, so we can shut down the wellspring of their game. Our defense is cohesive and elastic enough to contain all but the best forwards of any size.

The icing on the cake is our tall forwards who are carrying all before them at the moment. Ellis and Bizzel have fitted in nicely for Melbourne, but they're still one or two tall defenders short of matching Rocca/Tarrant/Fraser/Cummings/Molloy. The big men and their attendant crumbers should feed well on Monday.

The Dees will be fired up to pay us back for last year, but I reckon the match-ups still really suit us. We come into the match in fair form (a battling win and a gallant loss) whereas the Dee's form ain't great at the moment. It all points to a good win.

I agree. Probably not quite as "big" as last year's win, but I'm fairly confident. I was a bit worried because this is Melbourne's "up" year ;) and we remember what happened when we played them in their last up year, but then I remembered the loss of their 9 goal forward.

Our goalkicking power is actually up this season despite Farmer's absence. Peter Vardy is back for tomorrows game, & he's picked up Farmer's slack.

Having said that I've tipped the Pies on the strength of our terrible effort at Geelong last week. I wasn't that impressed with Collingwood last week either so I think it'll be a close one.

Bruce to tag Bux hopefully, that'll be a great duel.

Vardy's not playing according to Daniher. For us Richo ( ) and Steiner are coming in, I believe.

Gonna be a good game. As long as the Pies can play more than half a game the way we know they can...

Dont know about how Richo may effect the game. Every time i see him it brings me memories of the 'old' collingwood, the 'bad' collingwood. I would prefer to see scotty in and give young cole a run.

I spose Richo has the added benefit of being able to play, competently at least, at both ends if needed as opposed to Cummings' two postions of FF and on the bench.

well done to you guys, i can't really take anything away from the way you played, we played like **** and the umpiring was a factor but we played poorly and must accept that and move on. good luck for the rest of the season.

The umpiring was an embarrasment on Monday. There were one or two stinking decisions our way (eg when Cloke belted some Melbourne bloke in the final Q), but you get that in every game. What really struck me was we seemed to get all the 50/50's, and Melbourne couldn't buy a free in the first quarter.

I don't think it changed the outcome, we were going to win no matter, but it added maybe three goals to the margin. I'd hate to see the D's miss on percentage because of that effort.

well done to you guys!

you beat us pretty easily, and deserved to come away with the win. not much else to say, but well done!
