No such thing as better controller, comes to personal taste.

And I agree with the guy above, I don't see a difference between XBL and PSN.

Agree about the controller. Have no problem with a PS3 controller unless its playing a shooter. I just can't do it with a D3. I do prefer a 360 controller overall though, as its what i use most (ironically i was a PS2 fan boy)

I find using XBL a much better experience. I find the UI is much better, its easier to send messages, easier to party up. it just all seems a bit labour intensive when i've used a PS3 to do the same things

Freakie, your mates don't have consoles, so it comes down to a few things:

Price (maybe?)
Game exclusives
Console features (bluray etc)

Make a list of pros and cons of each and go from there. IMO 360 is better, but its what i'm used too

How much to microsoft charge for online gaming?

do you need a console right away? Maybe you could wait for the WiiU which comes out next year? Or you could wait till later in the year because there are rumours that both HD consoles are going to get price drops

He'd probably want games with his console though.;):D

If you want a contentious but still solid way to know how and what the best games for that system are to get, use Metacritic:

(10 90+ exclusives)

Nah getting a good PC with good graphics just costs to much then having to constantly update it as technology progresses just has finally given me the shits.

Did my research and decided on a PS3, but god-damn 500g's? Surely they are kidding...

Don't worry about playing online then, unless you like being disappointed.

even though i still think you should stick with pc gaming....if you truly are adamant on a console i'd probably pick the ps3 simply because i know you love cod and having no friends with either console, the bigfooty cod parties that will be happening when mw3 comes out on the ps3 every night would probably be right up your alley....i know they happen on the 360 too but i'd dare say it's a fair bit more active on the ps3 side.
there's always somebody around to start a party and with everyone on the headset and at a pretty good level it's generally a pretty fun/funny time.

outside of that i much prefer the ps3's controller and exclusives but that is just personal preference really. you may be the complete opposite.

coming from pc you'll likely curse the controllers for a while but they don't take long to adjust to.

regardless of which you choose there's plenty of ppl from on here to add to party up with

If you decide on a 360 then find the $299 Kinect bundle (4GB has no hard drive).

Sell the Kinect sensor and game on EBay for $120 and grab a hard drive online for $60. Result brand new 360 for $240. :thumbsu:

Get the 360, the BigFooty video games board has ps3 users outnumber 360 users 3 to 1. We need more numbers!

Ended sorry mate.

If your mates have PCs get a PC.

I'm sure using MSY and a mate who knows how to build a computer, you could get a wicked set-up for about $1000.

I have both PS3 and 360, but only because I got a free PS3 with a TV. Wouldn't buy both personally. Prefer the 360. Controller, live, headset included, cross-game chat all better than PS3.

You want a fanboy opinion? ok

GET PS3 BRO ITS HEAPS MUCH MORE BETTA AND HAZ GOOD GAMEZ THAT U PLAY WITH CONTROLS N SHIT NOT LIKE TEH SUXBOX THREESHITTSY LOL LOL LOL 111!!!11WTFBBQ!!111!11

But in all seriousness, it depends on what games you like, check out the list of exclusives for each and decide from there. Years ago the 360 would be the obvious choice, having owned one myself. Nowadays though i would recommend the ps3 just for the great line up of exclusive titles either out or coming out this year. Xbox seems too kinect focused of late and thats why i sold mine....that and i didn't see the value in paying for Live when PSN is free and works exactly the same as far as playing games online.
