Does anyone think we've got any hope of turning it around in time make the finals this year? I mean i know there is adequate time to do this but with the highly fragile mindset we've shown this year will be really be able to string a bulk of wins together? Who are our shining lights? Who is going to do it for us? Help!?

I think Kent Kingsley needs to find some form, Ling needs to come good at something, Ablett needs to play in the midfield and do well, Ottens needs to ruck well to replace King, and Mooney needs to lead and inspire like he did early in the season. Chapman needs to keep playing well. H, Kelly, and about 5 others need to learn how to play at all. Scarlett needs to get sexy. Finally they all need to stop being bitches and start being a team.

If they can do that then we have a chance.

I don't mind CG.

I think he has some improving to do, but if he can mature a bit in the next year or so, he can be a very handy player at his size.

I also think he is proably one guy with real character - something very important regarding leadership, an area we have been traditionally weak in.

If you look at CG's past and his development as a person it is quite impressive. He is also well educated, and at a guess I would think rates a bit above the average AFL player in the IQ stakes. Intelligence is a big contributing factor in sports performance and team dynamic.

He wouldn't be the first person I would delist. TL and MMc would go before him.

You're going to make no friends around here. If i was the made coach of Geelong, Charlie would have his locker packed within an hour and sent on his way.

I think with a user name like Charlie4prez your responses may be limited. He is not a liked player among Cat fans.

Heh, yeah it was supposed to more ironic than anything. Charlie is a constant source of frustration to me and by the sounds, many many other of the cats faithful... hard to understand why bomber has so much patience for him... the argument may be made that he is of higher IQ than the majority of AFL players, unfortunate that this doesn't translate on to the field as Chauncey seldom appears to even know where he is let alone what he is supposed to be doing... wow, this was just supposed to a short post to explain name but got a bit carried away...CHARLIE FOR PREZ!!:) :) :)

Thanks for your post... gold... agree with all especcially the points on Moondog's leadership role, The General and co.(esp. Kingsley:mad: ) needing to take some footy lessons (both in ball skills and mental toughness) and on the pack of them acting like little bitches. I think we need running again, running through the centre and most importantly running for each other. But I also agree with others that they way the new rule have impacted on the pace of the game, players like ling aren't going to be able to cut it in the centre anymore, no matter how good their hands are... play him forward, i think he played up forward in his junior career didn't he?

Friends are good, but i didn't set out to make them, just have my say as is the right of every supporter.

It is good to try and consider people and things from all angles, I was just trying for even the much maligned souls like CG.

BTW, is there any chance that you will become coach of Geelong Hoff?
