Draft Profile Henry Schade

Henry Schade is 194cm and 81kg and will be 18 by the time of the draft (I don't know his exact age).

Henry Schade represented Tasmania at this years Under 18 championships.

Schade is a tall defender who has the height and athletic scope required to play on the tall forwards of today. His agility is great for a tall unit, and combined with his great closing speed makes him a versitile player.

Schade reads the play well and as such is good in a one-on-one contest. His raking left foot kick also allows him to clear the defensive 50 with ease.

Would have to agree with you on this one. He turns 18 on October 8th and apparently has grown to 195cm and still growing. So in the younger end of draftee kids.

Can play on the genuine tallest forwards or play on the 2nd or 3rd forwards which gives him flexibility.

If you look at the tall defenders who are going to the draft combine, it tells a story. There are quality 190cm to 193cm boys in list, however there are few 195cm and above boys.

Would genuinely be in the best 2-3 tallest defenders for his age in the draft combine invitees.

Forget about the state screening invitees, the combine kids are the ones that will go first.

Would need at least 1-2 years in AFL system (as opposed to the monster Mohr who will play AFL next year) to bulk up.

However is attracting heaps of attention from AFL recruiters and will be interested to see where he goes.

Looking a likely 2nd round pick up, however would not suprise me if he was the suprise out of Tassie.

I was just alerted to the AFL website where they have information on the combine. Every player is listed in the categories, with the blue highlighted names with video footage.

Check out Schade and I think you will understand why clubs rate this kid. At 195cm and still growing I think he will attract the attention of clubs in the draft very early on!
