I reckon the job of an assistant is a thankless task and it's generally pretty difficult to determine just how greater input they have on the side. At a successful club everyone on the panel has tickets on them vice versa in a poor side, they all stink to the point it's career ending. Put aside our win/loss this year and the real highlight to me has been the transformation of a player like rance. 12 months ago i suggested he was hopeless above his head , nevermind in a contested situation. The improvement has been remarkable, and grimes to looked to be really coming on in that dept prior to being injured. And now like rancey of 12 months ago i thought Posty was useless in a contested sitaution, he was excellant yesterday.

I can only presume that leppa has been doing seriously intense work with these boys to good effect.

I have to agree Bo. Not just these 3 but also Astbury and Batchelor. Wonder how good our backline could be if we could add 25 to 50 games injury free to them all.

Im on the boat too fellas.. the backline has been great considering our lack of experienced personel. we have found a few good players.

Collectively we have some of the best spoilers in the league at the moment, and this is from players who used to be hopeless at spoiling. Not to mention it was Leppa who worked with Riewoldt and Vickery on their marking when he arrived, as well.

If every assistant coach did their job as well as Leppa, we'd win a premiership very quickly.

Has been fantastic for us. Can't think of any of our defenders going backwards this year all have shown great improvement.

Hopefully we're looking into an assistant coach for our midfield. Not saying we should sack Lade, just let him deal with the rucks whilst our mids learn to run both ways and block for team mates. *cough* cousins *cough*

From all reports, Cousins is in no position to be involved in any kind of active employment. Ben's is an ongoing struggle, the RFC was good for him in that it kept him clean for 2 years. A coaching role for him is absolutely out of the question. Healthy or not, he is not professional enough to be a full time AFL coach.
