Just a quick question, besides ebay does anyone know where i can pick up a heritage guernsey from one of the past years. Not a worn one but just the replica.

Also what are your choices for us to wear in that round this season? Personally i would like to see the Green from our first game.

I'm probably going to get shouted down for this, but I reckon we should wear:

1. All purple with white anchor for home games.
2. All white with purple anchor for away games (except where it may clash eg against Geelong or Kangas, where we would then use the purple home strip).
3. If heritage game occurs as a home game - then the current home strip (with red and green panels) as our "heritage" strip.
4. If it's away, then the original green away strip as our "heritage" strip.

I absolutely respect and admire the 120 years of footballing heritage in Freo, and think we should include the year "1885" somewhere on our heritage strip in recognition of when the first game was played in Fremantle; but I think we should move away from the red and white strip as it's time for this current Fremantle Football Club to create its own rich and proud heritage... following in the footsteps of all that has gone before it.

And in answer to your question, they are available from the club, from the AFL shop (in WA) and I've seen them in a sports store in Freo. Don't know if that's any help to you living in SA...

Totally agree IP, those guernseys are fantastic. Even opposition supporters think so. Though it's sacreligious to say so, it's time to move away from the green and red. Too many colours. All you gotta do is have all the panels in purple. Since we have embraced the "Purple Haze" idea in recent years why not take it all the way. I also like the idea of the original jumper as the heritage one. The current heritage one is OK but it's too South Freo

The only prob I see with the purple n white and reversed guernseys is that it makes the red n green obsolete. The marketers would have something to say as well, cuts down revenue avenues.

I agree with the white with Purple anchor being the away strip and making the purple one the clash strip. The current away strip I dont like much - dont think it would sell that well.

I quite like the heritage guernsey being what it is - Hang on IP! But it should reflect both heritages, red n white and Blue n white. So maybe each yr alternate the strip. Its inclusive and reflects the two differing lines of footballing history.

Disagree- I think we should keep the home strip. Stop all this change all the time.

I have grown to love the white 'clash' strip, although it is ridiculous wearing it against teams that have a white base.

Is the away jumper still alive or has it been locked away? Haven't seen it, that's all.

Hope it's been consigned to the annals of history... I hate it. Have heard rumours that the white will be our permanent away strip. Games against Geelong and North could be a problem, other than that.... :thumbsu:

Totally agree...I love the all purple guernsey, get rid of the crap red & green, it's not needed. I can't see Fremantle "taking" away from it's history, albeit 11 years if it takes off the red & green from it's colour base, it's not like we've won a Premiership or anything in those colours...even a final come to think of it. At Subi Oval, it's great when most of the supporters have the purple on...looks awesome, I think it's a strong colour & the white clash guernsey look fantastic.

It's not going to happen overnight though...as this year (according to lift out in Sunday Times) the club is wearing the "normal" home guernsey, & the white & purple anchor guernsey as the away/clash jumper for 2006. It seems that shocking away jumper with the white lines done it has thankfully dissappeared.

But 4 me....go purple & white ONLY...red & green has always looked terrible!
